Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Correct Color

by gogo199432 - Jam Entry

Are you going to follow the directions? Will you choose the correct color no matter what?

This is a story driven experience. It mimics several famous psychological experiments while putting the player in the center. The game asks the question: Is your choice really your own?

Controls: WASD, Left Mouse Button

Known bugs:
-Game sometimes skips events that trigger important stuff when Alt-Tabbing, so don't do it.
-If you get stuck, start spamming 'R' until you hear the end-of-day sound. However this takes away from the game, so don't do it unless needed ;)

Edit: Lots of small bugs been fixed.

Loved this one. It was actually pretty creepy feeling like you're the experiment. The visual style was awesome, and the moment at the very end when you thought you earned your freedom was great. Loved it!

Really interesting. I like how you play with all of the psychological experiments and it's incredibly attractive. Good job!

I really liked it, but the controlls are a bit unusual and without somefeedback, when i can press a button and which button to press when some UI feedback or a cursor or at least a dot would have been nice. Also some kind of menu screen feels also always more worthy :)

Nice job ! A bit "cliché" by some aspects but still effective. The game experience is there, we really feel all the weirdness of the situation.

Graphics is well done. Especially liked this morph animation where the food is getting out from the tube. There are few bugs which forced me to restart the game twice, but it's not so important.

I think more action will make the game more enjoyable. Overall, it has good potentional.

Nice story and graphics. Thanks for the game!

The sludge coming out of the pipe was impressively gross. Interesting experience, although a bit buggy. Would have liked some incidental music, but otherwise cool stuff. :)

This seemed really well polished. The gameplay was interesting, though I felt that I lacked choice in many of the experiments. My favorite thing has to be the food coming out of the tube, though. Very good work!

Thank you for sending me the link for this. I found it to be very good, slightly small on the text but it did leave me curious as to what exactly I was in this game.

Well made, what a messed up psychological experiment. :P

I did have a bug at one point where left clicking had no effect on the buttons, I think it was from spamming the R key to skip the day.

Very impressive- you did an excellent job

I felt like a lab rat. Nailed the mood theme and art / graphics were great. Very strong entry- with voice acting too! always a plus.

I liked the concept and the take on the theme (plus it was super polished). Reminds me of that experiment in which subjects are asked by a scientist to shock other subjects (most people do based on authority).

Liked how you use the "eat->sleep" loop to reinforce monotony.

The only thing I might change is the floor-tile test, I didn't feel like it really fit the overall experience.

Anyway, it's a really nice entry, congrats on finishing it! :-)

I liked that a lot. Cool use of the theme, and a very polished experience.

Creepy little game, reminds me of The Stanley Parable. It's a bit of a strange one but I liked it, makes you think! Also really nice looking, despite being simple.

Nice audio and a lot of work has gone into this. TINY subtitles tho and the font made them hard to read. Some funny moments too. One bit of advice, add a "ESC to QUIT GAME" function as it is a lot easier to end the game than having to alt-tab and close it etc. Nice work though

I liked the eeriness that I was some kind of prisoner that is captive. It was a good interesting take on the theme. It would have been cool to get different food or more reward as if a game is this stark, it needs to offer more incentive to play, but with time constraints, very impressed with what you made!

Incredible atmosphere! Very ominous, and the whole thing had a very dark vibe to it. I like how the experimenter started off by comparing you to a mouse, but then just eventually just called you mouse entirely.

The "he's doing the vocalisation test" thing was very clever.

Hey, I played your game ( https://youtu.be/Ih3tlW0hNQw ). Hope I did it justice.

Dec 16, 2016 @ 10:23pm

The story in this was great! thanks for recommending me your game. I played it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=XBEBBc-cfYc Unfortunately I only realized after playing that the blue button was shocking the player but it didn't effect the outcome too greatly. I agree that the ending would have been more clear if I had noticed that blue was shocking/killing me but it wasn't necessary to make me question my ability to make decisions for myself. I loved the parallel between the mouse and the player and wish I had talked about it in more depth during the video. Overall I really enjoyed this game and hope I did it justice in the video, thanks for sending it in.

It was quite interesting experience except to the fact that I'm not sure I did all the things right. Thank you for the game!

really enjoyed this one. The fact that it is based on real experiments makes it quite creepy. As a game, that you don't need to think too much about because it's not real, it's quite a pleasant experience.

Really nice use of the theme and I like how the story builds up after each experiment and what you eventually end up becoming. Only gripe so far is that the subtitle text was pretty small and unreadable at times.

Creeped me out. That means the game did it job.

Only complaint is that the subtitle text is too small.
