Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

"Arena" is fast-paced 1v1 arena fighting game.
This game is best played with friend in local multiplayer mode, but it also contains singleplayer (for us lonely ones) with programmed AI (which I personally find quite hard to beat)

Please let me know in your comment if you tried this game with your friend (would love to know if it was fun for you)

!!To confirm your hero selection in menu press "S" for player1 and "Arrow down" for player2!!

W/A/S/D - Movement
E/G - Movement ability (like blocking/dashing...)
Q/F - Ultimate ability (shield slam/heal...)

Art and sound is reeeeally well done, the game mechanics and controls are tough. A little thing that bothers me is how the characters shift position when flipping directions.

The art was great. There were lots of options to increase the gameplay lifespan, but the core move and hit mechanic could be improved to improve gameplay. It wasn't clear when the hit was made and why. The idea fit the theme exactly and multiplayer was fun too!

Very nice aesthetics. Controls and combat are a bit wierd but it's nice to see a local multiplayer game :D

Really nice game, and fun to play two players. Having classes and class specific moves is a plus.

The art and sound was really good but the controls felt very slugish. Though it was very fun to play. Nice work on the AI.

The controls are kind of weird and unintuitive. It took me a while to find out that pressing 's' is required to select the gladiator.
Also, I think the gameplay is kind of slow.
The graphics get their well deserved 5 stars though :)

Had quite a bit of trouble with the controls. I think I missed a lot of attacks. though I wasn't sure they were attacks or defensive moves.

The character art looks good, but the arena itself is a little plain.

Nice art, Could only play single player, the AI seemed a bit hard and felt it was a bit hard to understand what was going on, probably a lot more fun in multiplayer though.

Art is good. Music would be an improvement. Gameplay is kind of slow due to slow movement.
