Super Boss Room

Many audio files found on the internet. Graphics from opengameart.com (All CC licensed).

Enter the Boss Room! Or rather, stop the pesky adventurers from entering the boss room and stealing all your gold. Seriously, kids these days.

WASD - Move
Space - Shoot
QERT - Special abilities

Pickup powerups. Accrue more gold. Don't get slain (that'd just be embarrassing).

Not a whole lot of content, and the abilities could feel a bit clunky. Additionally having to move, shoot, and use abilities made things a bit difficult. It would've been much smoother to shoot with the mouse. The UI also was not weighted properly, and so would appear offcenter while fullscreen.

Otherwise it was a fun little game, and the difficulty was fairly good. I really like the idea of a game where you play as the boss of an area instead of the hero, and I think for the time limit it was relatively well implemented. The waves felt reasonable in length, and the difficulty was fairly constrained. Overall nice work.

Liked the idea of the game, but there a few improvements to make it better, the camera was extremely frustrating in the web build, not being able to look ahead and having to walk face first into enemies just off screen is frustrating. Also the game could use some clearer instructions, you mentioned stopping people get into your room and stealing gold but I had no idea which one that was, at first I assumed it was where you spawned but enemies seemed to spawn there to, and often the enemies would just straight disappear when off camera. Other than that i had fun clearing waves and the abilities were a fun addition, and it is a decent entry considering the time restraints. Keep up the good work.

I agree with @bplane2 about using the mouse to shoot -- it would make for a much better gameplay experience. That said, Dragons don't have turrets, so... :P

I liked the special abilities. Some were hard to use (the rings of fire) but I found myself relying on the speed and health boosts a lot. Cool game, needs a bit of polish, but pretty great for a weekend effort!

The idea of being a boss of your own dungeon is always kinda cool. It's neat how you incorporated MOBA style abilities into the game. My biggest gripe has got to be how close to the edge of the screen you have to get for the camera to pan. Really hard to see enemies coming that way. Still, this is a good effort.

Needs a whole lot of work, but I like what you tried to do. This is the second jam title I've played where you get to be the boss destroying the heroes, and I really like the concept. This game would benefit greatly from mouse controls for aiming, and maybe push the camera back a little. Anyway, thanx for the game.

I, too, think that shooting with mouse would make controls more comfortable. But, the game would be too easy (imo) then, and it would need something to balance the difficulty. Whole idea of controlling the boss sounds really fun for me. I don't know many games around that idea. I had fun playing your game.

As others have said, twin stick or mouse aim would help this. Also it would be great if the camera would start scrolling before you got to the edge of the screen. Some polish would make this really solid.
