Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Welcome to the house of jazz! An old school 3D platformer we all miss. Explore this suprisingly long and wacky room, collecting notes and we'll promise you will be walking on walls ;)
WASD to move
Space to jump

Be harsh and brutal with your feedback!
EDIT: additional link with a version where the bad respawn bug is fixed, among couple of other ones. They were "wrong-bool" level human errors, so I wrestled with whether to provide an additional link or replace the old one. I decided to leave the choice to you with the former.
Tip for the drums: You can hold jump instead of timing it.

This was really fun, I had one bug where I got a checkpoint but I was hovering over the void so I constantly fell, but other than that it was really good. I couldn't get my head around rotation mechanic, I kept pressing the wrong button constantly but I'm sure if I practice enough... ;)
got the same bug that spawned me above nothing, just after the jumping drums serie.
Overall it's a pretty cool entry.
One major improvement (imo) would be a blob shadow under the character (a simple projector that project a shadow under the character), so that you can easily "see" in 3d where you are. You can see that in all the 3d plateformers games.
Nice job !
Wow, this is fun!
I ended up getting at a checkpoint where it kept throwing me in the pit, but otherwise this is pretty amazing!
Reminds me a lot of Crash Bandicoot and other platformers from that era. Which is a great thing! :D
Nice game! Had a bit of difficulty jumping on the drums though.
The game is pretty simple, but the graphics and music is really enjoyable and funny.
Pleasant experience! Same for me I had this bug where I was spawned over the void and falling in loop.
I enjoyed playing it even though I have run into a bug where I kept spawning over a pit. Really nice visuals! :)
Not really a fan of this sort of platforming (personal preference, not the game's fault) but everything else is so cool and polished - especially the atmosphere and music!
I had fun while playing but the drum jumping was really frustrating, sometimes the drums would pop and other times I just could not get them to. As such I was unable to advance past the multiple drum jump. The game looks really interesting though and I like the jazzy theme!
Really dig that low leaning, cool as ice, jazz man. Being able to control his snapping or have to use the walking lean to duck under things would be pretty great. Unfortunately I had a lot of trouble with the timing on the snare drums, that boost jump is so hard to get. Almost beat the 4 snare section but fell after the last drum and spawned above a void in an area I hadn't seen before that looks like it introduces walking on walls, which would be sweet but I sucked to hard to make it there legit.
not bad! i had to stop playing once i reached the point where the rotations required too much planning on my side instead of just letting me smoothly jump between the floating platforms, resulting in countless resets.
i think the game would'e actually benefited from NOT rotating the camera along with the player - that would give off a really cool effect.
either way i loved the concept and even had some fun. good job :)
P.S - you can link the postjam version as the regular version, since it fixes a bug that prevents people from playing your game and doesn't add new content.
I think this desperately needs a shadow under the player to know where you are landing. I got to a point where I couldn't see any further platform to jump to and had to quit - it was the area where you jump onto a painting, then a drum that is moving back and forth - I couldn't see anything in either direction to land on from there =/
Great idea of expanding the room as you progress, sound and animation are also great!
Wow, love the awesomely weird aesthetics of this, feels like a lost classic straight out of the 90s. Dig the jazz man's laid back posture too. Surprisingly fleshed out platforming mechanics w a great twist. Get's a bit too hard to predict the rotation toward the end though.

This game is pretty unique! It's a classic style platformer-collectathon that reminds me of old Rare titles. The idea is humorous and the walk cycle was a big part of that. The music and sound fit the game perfectly.
My biggest critique are the controls. I really feel they need to be smoothed out and optimized or else the failures in game seem like more of the game's fault than the players. The jumping on the drum sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
All in all, I really enjoyed this game!
