RoomZoom is a VR puzzle game made for the HTC Vive. The Oculus Rift + Touch controllers may work... but I have not tested them. CLEAR YOUR ENTIRE SPACE to play this!

Just start SteamVR and then launch the game.

Each puzzle is one room, but you can't simply walk through it. Instead, you change your position within your own physical room, and teleport into adjacent areas, retaining your relative position. This sounds more complicated than it is, so just play!

This game relies HEAVILY on roomscale. The game SHOULD scale to your playspace, and should be possible to beat with the minimum space requirements (2 x 1.5 meters) but I'd really recommend at least 2x2 or bigger.

The game will tell you the controls, but just in case:
Point your right hand controller towards an adjacent area and lightly TOUCH the touchpad to see a preview of where you will be in that room.

PRESS the touchpad to teleport into that area.

Don't forget to actually MOVE AROUND in your physical playspace.

Really nice idea. Was fun to see how to arrange yourself, kinda makes me feel like that game show "Hole in the wall". Really fun! Especially really liked the "darken your view" mechanic for stopping VR exploiting. Ended up teleporting myself into a position where my view went black and I was stuck :(

@Squid - not sure why you would see that, do you actually have an HTC Vive and do you have SteamVR running?

@Kerr, you shouldn't be able to teleport into a place where your view goes black, though I have seen it happen for some reason on the last level, so you were probably almost done.

This is a really great idea! I've never had to crawl around in a VR game before :P Would love to see this developed if there were more mechanics to fill out a full version with!

I love that you actually have to move around in space rather than just teleporting everywhere, as is so common in roomscale games. I like that the game scales to the size of your room and the use of semi-transparent walls to let the player see their boundaries. The graphics are simple but perfect for showing the player what's going on, which is great for a prototype like this.
