Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Left Mouse Button : Fire/Select

Right Mouse Button : Pause

Two buttons? Perfect for LD34! Wait... wrong one...

Ehhh what else?... So I changed the main game mechanic from seen in the unfinished version. I had 3 hours left.

I spent way to much time on modeling, funny how I didn't actually use any of them ;( Also spent waay too much time on the Menu XD

I've noticed people asking about if you can win. Sorry but there is none. I had 3 hours and I ran out of time.

Man, this is a really cool game!
I've never seen such game mechanic before, very cool and innovative, well done!

Cool game with unique movement, little overboard on the particles but I still like it. Interesting how you could go through such a fundamental gameplay switch between the finished and unfinished mode.

It's a good sign when just moving around is exceptionally fun! And the music is really catchy too. Really cool porject you have here!

This game is fucking cool! I love moving around by shooting, you should port this to mobile. This is another game that would be really cool if it was had levels and you had to kill all the guys to clear each room.

Oh man, two of the best things, physics and particles!

Also good use of programmer art.

Good job on the game as a whole: it looks good and feels good to play!
Not sure how you're supposed to win (nor lose, for that matter) and I guess my main problem with the game is that it lacks any challenge or replay value.

Movement is so fun. Also the particle rain is pretty crazy. Nice work :D

Oh yes, that recoil is nice to move around with. Can I actually win though?

Really nice entry, even if there's a lack of feeling of competence, and a main goal (like a score maybe).
Anyway it's really clean and well done, really great job.

Very nice music and particle effects! I had some trouble figuring out what exactly damages me, but moving around using the weapon's recoil was good fun!

I like the jumping/shoot mechanic, feels a lot like Downwell. You need some way to represent your ammo remaining. Keep working on it.

Gorgeous menu! The movement felt really good. I've seen a few games use the recoil mechanic, No Time to Explain comes to mind, but your implementation was spot on for tight controls.

I like the core mechanic behind the game, I've seen it done a few times, but it is always a fun experience. I found that the particles got in the way of the readability of the game: it was difficult to tell whether you hit an enemy regardless due to you flying in the opposite direction, and the massive amount of particles didn't help that at all. Also, when I died, I couldn't restart for some reason.

Dec 16, 2016 @ 6:05pm

That mechanic was pretty cool. I bet it'd be really fun if the game was a little more fleshed out. I liked the audio track as well.

I never thought a two button game would be so much fun. The game concept is very creative. I had so much fun playing this. The audio was nice too. You should finish making this game. Overall a nice game to play. Keep it up!

the recoil mechanic was great and really fun to play with it, the audio PERFECT , the only problem I had was with the collider hitboxes, sometimes it felt like i should have hit the enemy, but i didn't, BUT WHO CARES, ALL THE BOXES ARE DEAD NOW :p
Good job :)

The idea is good. I remember playing similar games and it could be a lot of fun. Shame you didn't have enough time to finish it.

I enjoyed the movement from shooting, had no idea what to do after first (Because I didn't read) and spent a good amount of time sitting in the corner shooting up left. Once I figured out the movement I couldn't figure out what to do next... so I flew around shooting everything that moved... or stood there too long... It was a lot of fun.

I tried toying around with the second hidden/unfinished prototype but I didn't know what to do after I switched the lever... so I went back to the other game and flew around shooting more.

The music was really cool. Took me a moment to figure out the controls, but I got the hang of it.

Very good start! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :)
