Ludum Dare 37 — December 9th-11th, 2016 — Theme: One Room

Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Prison Inspector

by Hamsternator - Compo Entry

This is a basic hidden object game. Click on everything that looks weird, broken or other reasons for why you may find them suspicious. You have a limited amount of time to inspect the cells so you will most likely not find them all on your first try.

The suspicious objects are randomised so don't expect some things to be there every time =)

I know this game isn't a particularly new concept, but unfortunately this was the only thing that came to mind with the theme.

Game created with:
Engine - Construct 2
Art - Pixlr
Music - Aux (iOS app)

I am aware of a certain bug that allows you to win by selecting the same object multiple times. May fix this with a minor update, but time is not in abundance right now and I'd rather judge other entries instead =)

I am now aware of the ugly typo in the first sentence... this is truly a creation that keeps on giving '^^

My boss doesn't check his paperwork, I can pick the same problem repeatedly to win. ;) If I don't cheat it's still pretty fun, though.

A bit too easy; pretty fun tho. Well done.

If you pick the same pot many times you win! :P
Simple game, could use more variations thou.
Nice music and likes the graphics.

Wow, I like the idea. There are enough games about prisoners that jam, but it's the first one about an inspector!
Playing was pretty fun too.
Good job!

SImple game with a old school base, I dig the thought. The bug listed below breaks it :(.

Good little game, the 20 timer feels just right. Some of the hidden objects like the vent screws and wall spots took me a few tries to see, but I like that aspect for the challenge.

As I can see you are aware, clicking on issues multiple times causes a win. It says I found 84 issues!
I do like the idea though. And man, it doesn't seem like I get paid enough if the inmates are this mischievous!

Not bad, I really like the music! I think this is a pretty good idea for a game, but I have two qualms with the execution. One, it's a little hard to tell what's what (especially the poster -- I can't figure out when it's a problem and when it isn't). Maybe the signs could be a little clearer? The other thing is that there's a bug where you can "find" the same flaw many times and it counts as finding all of them :P

Nice job!

Interesting game, with some problems though:
- You should change the screen in the menu, as it is pretty easy to spot what changed in room
- There should be some limit in hidden objects in almost same place - one time managed to find two shanks under the lamp :D

Simple and familiar concept-my mom plays a lot of these search-the-item games. (Playing this made me realize I need to clean my monitor.) Suits the theme well!

Solid graphics are a big part of these games, and these may be a little too simple, resulting in easy to spot patterns.

While the music isn't bad, it didn't really aid the mood of the game. (Also, the lead synth was probably a little too loud). I would've loved a happy 'ding' upon selecting an item.

I really like the concept I would love to see it fleshed out an have more variety of rooms, Or even make this a 3D game where you can actually explore the room

I really like your take on the theme, and that it does vary between sessions. Could always use more variations of course, but you've definitely put together something decent.
