Sides Adventures

by Meta-link - Compo Entry

You must survive, and your room is your only friend ...

Sides Adventure is an action/survival game, in which you wake up in your own room, which is itself in the middle of the ocean and try to survive as long as possible by controling your room with different tools.

/!\ Play in fullscreen or on ! (Windows version also available) /!\

This game was fun to create, since it was one of these times where the main idea comes quickly, and you can build and efficient prototype. I even had the time to make a (bad) music ! The game is maybe a little bit to hard and is lacking a "main story", but in the end I found it fun !

Controls : keyboard or gamepad, press M to stop the music and the sounds.

Made in 48h with GameMaker, Asesprite, Bosca Ceoil and much more.
I hope you will enjoy this game, see you at the next Ludum Dare !

Awesome game, I liked the simple but very efficient mechanisms. The graphics are also very nice with a great unity and consistency. Now when I will wake up, I will hope I am in the middle of the sea in my room :)

Good job! Shares some similarities with the game that we made (ours is also in the ocean controlling a character who is controlling a vessel... except co-op and side scrolling instead of top down)

Interesting concept but those input indicator made me confused maybe instead show only interact or cacel button and when you start using item show some hel in ui.

nice game, it was very difficult to control when you had to jump between the computer and the cannon but it was quite fun. the perspective also confused me a little at first but once I was familiar with the game it was a lot of fun.

Nice entry. The controls were okay, the graphics were nice, I'd like a tutorial or something, but it's not too hard to get the hang of it after a few tries. Pretty fun little game :D

Great game, actually, i loved the concept !
Even more task to do, with more simplicity in the controls could be a blast !

Good game, I like it. It is complex and interesting. I like to sail, you don't have time to be distracted)). Great.

Cool mechanic and art but I really found the controls a bit confusing.

Really great job! The idea is one of the most crazy and original I've seen so far :)
The game has a particular pace, and it seems you never have enough time to be able to do everything, always going back and forth the different mechanics.
Well done friend!

Not bad. It wasn't very obvious from the beginning how to control things – I tried the fishing rod, the flashing bits showed (X or V???), didn't help. I figured it out eventually, but a little tutorial / explanation screen would be nice.

Other than that, it's a nice little multitasker. There is no challenge once you know the game though. I got to 2200+, then I just got bored, because there wasn't anything else happening. Maybe add other functions to the boatroom? More enemies? Increase the speed? Etc.

I was a bit confused with the controls at first, but it turned out to be a really cool experience.
The music was a bit annoying tho. I feel like something a bit more peaceful would have fit the game better... Maybe ?
Anyway, great game !

Very interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :)
