One Room Dragon Schmup

TL&DR Summary
This is a kill two birds with one stone entry.
1. Help my community.
2. Submit my first Ludum Dare Entry (finally)

Made in 5 hours with: Corona SDK and SSK2.


> Player auto-steers clockwise if no input given.

> Press and hold left side of screen to steer counter clockwise.
> Press and hold right side of screen to fire.

Win 32
> Steering (counter clockwise): A or Right Arrow or DPAD Right
> Firing: D or Right Arrow or spacebar or buttonA on controller
> Click screen with mouse if you die.

Goal: Stay alive, kill other dragons, and collect coins.
DO: Shoot dragons
DO NOT: Run into other dragons or the walls.
Collect Gems: To change weapon
> Red - Fire projectile
> Green - Poison Projectile (kills over 1.5 seconds)
> White - Lightning Projectile (kills on collision or if nearby)

re #1:
A week ago I asked my community to put together a list of things they'd like to see in a schmup. The goal was to quickly write and then share the code for said game.

re: #2 - Friday I heard there was a Ludum Dare starting and thought, "Gee why not?"

So, here it is... A 'One Room' Schmup with dragons and some of the other things my community asked for.

While I collected inputs on ideas from the Corona coumunity last week, please note that no work began till Saturday the 10th.

Total time spent developing this game: 5 hours.

The two button controls work well for mobile here - I had a good time trying it out on Android. A few frame rate issues when shooting lots of projectiles, but I had fun. Nice work for such a short time!
