Paper Cutter

A 2D fighting game. You play as an oragami swordsman fending off paper monsters. Swipe your sword repeatedly and the room rotates. Made with Unity, GIMP, and Bfxer.

Controls

W: Jump
A/D: Move left/right
S: Fast fall
Left click/left arrow: Attack left
Right click/right arrow: Attack right

Objective

Attack enemies to throw them. Throw them into a different colored wall to destroy them. Destroy enough enemies of each color to win.

Enemies will try to bite you and take away one of your 4 lives. Lose all 4 and you die.

I thought the visual style was cool. I really liked the idea of origami samurai.

It was kind of hard to tell how well I was doing! I was never sure if I was killing a lot or if they were destroying my lives!

I'm not sure if this is a glitch, but I could spam attacks if I switch between left and right really fast. Also, idk what I did, but at one point, I saw a lightning bolt shaped thing on the screen and the game froze. :/
Other than that, it seems like a decent game. :P

Sorry, unable to play, it runs out of memory, try to allocate more. Error: "Out of memory. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating more memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings."

I find it a bit hard to tell if I'm playing correctly, but the art style here is fantastic, great job.

The visual style of your game is awesome!
I really love the idea of origami warrior so much.

However, I agree with @jack-lance and @Attrition that it's hard to say what the aim and am I playing it correct. But it doesn't matter for me x)

Having memory leak issues and the gameplay is quite confusing. Do I have hp? Why doesn't the room rotate if I spam attacks? Why can I spam attacks? Is there a win-state?
The art is very nice, but the gameplay is lacking in conveyance.

Keep up the good work though, you'll get there :)

Like the concept and the visuals. Could have more feedback for when I hit an enemy. Also, like others have said, I'm getting problems with memory.

I beat the game in maybe two minutes?

Pretty cool, sound's got a bit annoying, needed a few different sounds in there.

Didn't see if there was a way to lose, or a way to win until I had pretty much beat everything.

The idea was cool, and the art was awesome! the character looks like he is actually a folded up piece of paper.

I like the theme, and I figured out you can win quite easily if you spam the right-click extremely fast. Short experience but I enjoyed it! - Joey

This has a really unique graphically style, one that I haven't seen in a long time - cool. The gameplay was a bit confusing as others mentioned. Nice submission!

I have no idea what I am doing, but I like it. But it has really nice visuals and sounds. The jumping seems a bit bugged.

The art style is very original! I played a couple of times, trying to create some strategy, I managed to do better than just clicking. It was more fun this way. So I think it needs something to avoid the random clicking. But nice entry for the compo!

I loved the art. The rotating room mechanic was pretty cool. I'm not sure if it's possible to get killed in this game, I got to a green screen with a V, so i think that means Victory? good game.
