Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Welcome to my Ludum Dare 37 entry! As you can see this is really basic.
The game spells out roughly how to play.
WASD to move.
You have 2 lights, they are used to catch the elf.
They activate when the light goes off.
If the murderer is in the light when the lights go off he is caught and you win.
Sorry about the earlier gamejolt link. Gamejolt is a bit picky when uploading JS games.

That was an original and good idea for a december LD :)
I had hoped that the "riddle" would be a bit more complex with a day time during a bit longer.
Going between the 2 tables was also a bit tricky sometimes.
Nice work! Innovative game mechanic - I'd like to see a fuller game based on this idea. I was a little unclear on how the controls worked and the two-light limit was pretty strict, but very creative and interesting work overall.
Original idea, but the game does not have a great challenge, it would look better with more phases and be able to arrest only with the certainty of who the killer is
Pretty much what zzapp said. It was really hard to read the text. But good idea, nice game otherwise!
@Testlab. I updated it since @zzapp had said what he said. It would be great to have a bit more context. How is it hard to read. It what way. When @zzapp said about the text it was blue without a background. Now it is black and with a panel.
Sometimes text can be hidden behind GUI elements, but otherwise this is a really nice entry! I love the idea!
Intriguing idea. I had trouble figuring out how to use the light - I tried several times and couldn't get the light to go on. Sometimes the dialog bubbles were off the screen and half was illegible. I like the idea, and the one room thing works - just hard to follow in playing.
Oookay... first of all, I wasn't able to play that in Firefox: I heard the music, but no image was available.
Secondly, there were these blackouts when some elves supposed to die, but I didn't really see anyone dying.
And then there were a lot of hints that "Dave is the murderer" and he wasn't moving at all, so I just got to him with the lights and suddenly won. When it asked me whether I want to play more and I clicked, music started again while the previous one didn't stop, and then when I clicked through all the story it started one more time (three unsynced tracks at the same time). That's where I quit =)
Also, it's hard to read the font. I mean, it's not bad, it's alright to use in a logo or something, but not for some long texts.
I liked the idea, graphics and music though.
I don't know if I missed something, but the WASD controls didn't work. Didn't rate
Cool idea, but moving Santa can be a bit tricky at times and can it be hard to read the text.
@WeaverDeveloper sorry about that. It seems that it wasn't working through Gamejolt. I will contact them about it however if you had looked at the page you would have noticed that I hosted two versions for this reason. @Protrance if you used the game jolt version it didn't work however if you'd be willing to play the game properly there should be no problems controlling the main character.
The text is really hard to read, both because of the font and that it's obscured sometimes. There wasn't much gameplay, but I suppose you can do more with the idea. The music is annoying as hell! :-)
I really like the idea!
The art style is nice and the audio is awesome.
Smooth gameplay, well done!
Nice entry overall, good narrative and graphics
Idea is solid but requires polishing
Text popups sometimes are overlapped by elf sprites, which makes them impossible to read :(
Cool idea but it wasn't very clear what the controls are except for walking with WASD...
Nice compo entry, I enjoyed it a lot. Didn't except that kind of game while launching, which was a good surprise. Pixel art is pretty good, the music was awesome and the idea is original and strict to the theme.
Pretty nice game that makes you feel like something you play with your friends in real life.
It took some time for me to figure out how the whole thing with the flare/flashlight works and the dialogue should be always in front of santa, so you do not have to walk around to read it.
Good concept, but I feel like the gameplay is a bit hard to grasp. I "won" twice in a row without really understanding what I had done besides clicking the "light" button. Anyway credit for the ambitious idea and dark take on the holidays!
Very challenging game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Ysp76gwDV8M

A good take on the theme, the sound and graphics were good. The font is extremely hard to read, really made finding the killer elf tough not knowing what anyone was saying.
