Jade's Gauntlet

--------------[ JADE'S GAUNTLET ]-------------------------------------------

After acquiring the precious Jade's Gauntlet, the Dwarf was very proud, because as every non-hipster dwarf he does like a lot some great powerful jewels.
But the undeads got angry when they lost the item, and angry undeads do not like people.
To escape, you need to finish some challenges.

--------------[ DIFFERENCES IN THE POS-COMPO VERSION ]------------

- You may use S key to shoot arrows and A key to use Jade's Gauntlet.
- Notes may be skipped.
- Game got just a little bit speed up. (Undeads spawns faster)

I'm satisfied with my work this Ludum Dare, I spent 40 hours of the weekend fully working in the game, unfortunately some importants things are missing and the gameplay needs a little bit of speed, but overall I think it is an interesting concept and I hope you like it!

I liked it! I agree with your need for more speed, and maybe a button to fast-forward the intro instructions would be nice. The art though! So great, I thought it was very well done, and look at those shadows.

Fantastic artwork. But for the next jam please keep in mind thet not everone uses a english keyboard layout. X and Z are not next to each other on my keyboard. French and german keyboard layouts are quite different than the english layout.

The graphics are great! I might say, this is the biggest dwarf I have seen in a long time! :p The Zombie Hitbox could be a bit bigger when shot from above or below.

The artwork looks really great for the short amount of time. I feel the player character could be a bit faster, it feels a bit sluggish. Because the arrow pushes you back and the enemies walk to the side while that happens you have to reposition yourself most of the time. That combined seems to make it feel a bit odd.

I liked the chain reaction as you cast your spell but the whole concept of kill X zombies with one shot wasn't the best one. Spell should recover over time instead of being pick up depended. Graphic was ok. Sounds of zombies were cool but sound of arrow was getting on my nerves. Arrows were useless. Traps on the floor were interesting.

More work should've been put into making the gameplay feel smooth and juicy. Movement is too slow and shooting mechanics aren't the best. I have to say the artwork is fantastic, though!

The concept of having each wave be a different challenge was a great one. It separated it from all the other wave based top down shooters the dare received. The music and announcer also were a nice touch. The animations could use some touch up, but overall, the graphics were very well done. I really liked the gem's effect.

The main problem I had was shooting up or down. If you're facing the monster in a straight line, you'll miss because the arrow shoots too much to the left or right. Meaning you have to re-position yourself after each shot, since the zombie also re-position itself to face you dead on. It became pretty tedious, especially since aiming left or right didn't have this problem.

Overall, despite it having only three waves, it was quite fun. Good job!

Very consistent game. I like it. Good animations and graphics. Keep going! One bug: When I press ESC it freezes.

I really like characters look (especially dwarf). Floor traps and not square level are good addition to rather simple gameplay. I would love to see more types of enemies! Nice work!
