Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Elevator Panic!

by Wefiends - Jam Entry

LDJam 37 Entry: WIP

Play the latest version here: https://wefiends.itch.io/elevator-panic

Bless Nathaniel Milburn's little heart for helping us out with some art this time around. Most of his stuff didn't end up in the Jam submission, but it'll be in the updated version. http://nathmilburn.com/

Theme: One Room

Controls: Up and Down Arrow Keys, Space to Release Break

Premise:

You're in an office and everyones busy and they need to get where they're going. Luckily they've got a really neat, definitely not dangerous, certainly a room, totally safe elevator that will get them there quickly.

Sadly, you're the one controlling it, and who knows what you might do. Hopefully you'll try and get them to their location safely. Maybe you'll kill them. Who cares.

Score points, stay alive, all that good stuff that's in games.

Game should end with 0s left, and panic induced with no death and less length of time from last scare should reward more. Overall fun though!

Nice idea, but I think it'd work better if it was more challenging from the beginning.

Where's the game over screen? The game doesn't have a ending, but the elevator theme is creative

This was a really fun game, but I wish there were more reason to try to use the brake release button. There was no real hurry to get these people to their proper floor, so there was really no reason to risk using the brake release to get them there faster. I played this game for way too long! I couldn't stop! It was a little hypnotizing! Over all, I really liked it, but wish there were more consequences for being too slow.

I had fun playing the world's least safe elevator operator. As others have said, the lack of a loss condition is a bit odd.

Really all that I expect from a game jam entry: a very nice concept that fits the theme really well and executed perfectly! Well.. not perfect as there are some things missing, but I can definitely see a great potential in this one! And the music is great too :)

Very simple and oddly satisfying. Very well done :)

Really fun little game, the music is just perfect! :D
I felt guilty in a good way when I hit the brakes to late!
Great game!

Nice game, but it would have been more challenging with characters comming at a faster rate. I didn't understand why people would use the brake button but... I had fun using it ><.

Nice graphics, well made game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/3MOSAwxK9LQ
