Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

SWALLOWED BY A SPACE WORM

by Problem - Jam Entry

WELL IT AIN'T FINISHED BUT HELL I'LL PUT IT UP ANYWAY
_______________________________________________________

You and your fellow adventurers have been swallowed by a giant space worm. You have five seconds to start climbing before it starts digesting. Climb to the top to escape the rising acid, and use your raygun to push your friends into the goop!

I've never submitted to Ludum Dare before, I only had 12 hours to make this, and I've never made a networked multiplayer game before. So it's a bit of a trash heap, but I figure somebody will enjoy this.

You can play alone if you just hit the "Join" button when creating a server, though it's better if you get in a Google Hangout or Discord and play with friends.

Controls and Setup:

As of now, starting up the .exe will simply open up the matchmaking screen. Name a server and hit "create". It will pop up after a bit. If it doesn't load, try again a couple times. If that doesn't work, restart. Once in the room, pick your color and type your name. Your name will appear over your head in the color you picked once you are ingame. You can theoretically host up to 20 people in one match.

WARNING: ONLY HIT THE JOIN BUTTON WHEN YOU ARE READY. DO NOT HIT IT BEFORE OTHER PEOPLE JOIN OR THE GAME WILL START WITHOUT THEM AND THEY WILL NOT JOIN

Use W, A, S, D to move, fire your raygun with Mouse 1. Spacebar is jump, Shift is sprint.

Your raygun will push players in a random direction when they are hit, the best times are when they are in mid-jump or on a thin railing. Climb the debris to the top! At 1:37, the acid stops rising. At 1:45, the round ends. Use this small window to push people into the acid.

After the round ends, a broken scoreboard will pop up for 15 seconds, and everybody will be pushed back to the networking lobby. For some reason this is really buggy and broken, so you'll be better off just restarting the application if you want to play another round.

And that's the game! It's barely finished and barely working, but I'm happy with what I managed to do in only a handful of hours. I'll be continuing work on it, but it'll be long after the deadline ends.

COMING SOME DAY:

-Icon for .exe
-Artpass of the worm
-Ambient stomach noises
-Shooting animations
-No more animations clipping into the player during play
-Proper scoreboard showing all players at the end.
-Textures on everything
-A start screen
-Properly syncing raybeams over the network
-Gun audio, death audio, movement audio
-A start screen
-Fixed networking so you don't have to constantly relaunch the game
-Option to stay in the game so you don't have to disconnect to play again.
