Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Hi everyone,
Thanks a lot for coming to my page.
I am really excited to present you this game, since it is my really first participation to the LD and also the first full game I have been creating. XD
Hope you will enjoy it.
Every comment will be welcome and feel free to share your score ! It was a great experience and I can not wait to see what you all have been producing !!! :D

--------------------------- Gameplay ---------------------------
There is no gameplay explanation in-game, here is a description of the controls :
- Mouse left click : Grab a stone / Start game / Continue dialogue / Retry
- After grabbing a stone, Left click again and keep it pressed, you can then adjust the angle and power of stone throwing by dragging the mouse. Just release the button to throw.
----------------------------- Tools -----------------------------
- GameMaker: Studio
- Leshy SFMaker/Audacity : Sound design
- Fruity Loops : Music
- GraphicsGale : Pixel art
- Photoshop
UPD : /!\ WARNING /!\
dll and other files are included in the archive, so the game should be emulated on Linux, but it is a windows export of the game.
UPD2 : Adding a itch.io link to download the game in case of the first wouldn't work.

The art is awesome, the gameplay is simple but fun.
It's really a nice game ^^
Lovely art. I thought the bat things were friendly at first! Cute bat things! That bring cuddles!
Cool game. It would be nice if I didn't have to click a second time after throwing a stone to grab a second stone. I realize this was probably a design choice, but it feels a little clunky.
+1 for including the dll's etc so it can be emulated on Linux.
Cool little game, I love the scenery you set there.
The atmosphere is great, both trough sound and art.
Gameplay wise, very simple, maybe a bit repetitive for my taste.
All in all a good entry. The scene itself is very iconic imo! :)
This is pretty nice. Fun gameplay and godd visuals and atmosphere.
However I think having to click just to ready a rock is unnecessary and often just ended up dropping rocks instead of throwing them.
Thank you very much for your kind feedbacks !!
Yes actually, I wanted a kind of cooldown to prevent the player spamming stones throwing that could make the game too easy (because it was too easy without this). Maybe I should have think of a different way to do this :)
And for the Linux export, unfortunately I'm using the free version of GameMaker: Studio, so I think I can't export it for anything else than windows... :(
Fun little game- I like that you had to throw a stone out the window before the defense gameplay started- you were able to gauge power and aim a little when they came out. The first time I didnt realize I needed to kill the creature and it turned mah hair blue! the Bastard! hah but then I replayed and threw rocks at them bastards. Great animation of her breathing- fun little game. Great execution- nice work
If you create a Mac build let me know and I can test it for you
I can test it for you.
Was a pretty fun game. Had a bit of trouble figuring out the click controls. But after that it was great
Maybe throwing stones out a window is a bad idea, it only makes things worse. lesson learned
Absolutely gorgeous! I found the best strategy very quickly though. Once you start throwing it at the window constantly, it loses challege.
@All : Thank you very much for all your comments, it cheers me on a lot :D
@Haddy22 & @Zarkonnen : Sorry that you had to learn the hard way the fact that creatures were not really friendly... ^^'
@abezuska : Thanks for the proposition, but I don't know at all how to do it with GameMaker... :(
@Sixteen : I'm not accurate enough to succeed with this strategy, but the creatures' appearing frequency is increasing a lot at a certain point and I'm not sure this strategy is enough to take care of all of them ;)
this was actually pretty cool!
graphics and sound create a great atmosphere.
as harusame said: "It's not the best game for the humor category"
The graphs are very beautiful 5/5. It has no ending?
Its a very good entry for your first try! Congratulations!
It seems that website it located on is down for me. Could you please upload on some other host?
@Mark Ffrench : You beat my score so I guess you won ! Sure :D
@Sun-Wukong : I added a itch.io link, but the first one is working perfectly fine for me. Thank you anyway for your interest :D
@All : And once again, I am really grateful that you took some of your time to try my game and apparently appreciated it, it's really touching :')
Awesome art and simple but effective gameplay. At some point I did manage to trigger the monsters without the stone going out the hole. Nice job on this.
Nice simple concept executed well. The graphics and animation are great. Music is good but the sound effect scared me when the stone goes through the window (had my headphones too loud, hehe).
My only criticism would be is I found it a bit awkward clicking on the girl before I could start aiming. I suppose it added to the challenge but I would have preferred to instantly click and aim. Good fun though, well done!
The gameplay is simple and clear, and the music, sounds and art makes it work really well! The game has an excellent mood/atmosphere!
The "short/low-powered" throws felt a bit too short, but other than that, the controls felt really intuitive.
This is a great game :)
My score was 117 (ow, my hand :) )
It's cool to see someone come up with a similar idea like your own :-)
You missed the same feature which is so important for long time motivation: The enemy kill counter needs to be visible during playtime. The kill sound is to loud.
The main character is very cute and nicely drawn. She deserves more animation states. I like the colouring and the mood it puts you in. Well done!
The game is simple and fun, with great art and audio.
The story is sad, I feel upset about the girl.
Played until 149 then gave up. Graphics are really cool and the mood is awesome. It would have been neat if she followed the cursor with her eyes or head. Also nice touch to set up the game with throwing the stone out the window.
From the game mechanics, I could see some improvements. Maybe you could omit having to click to raise the arm, that's a bit extra effort that does not contribute to the game and makes the controls a bit confusing
I was not able to aim down, which was a bit of a bummer, since the creatures on the bottom are a bit hard to hit that way.
Some progression would be nice. Not necessarily extra monsters, but a faster ramp up in difficulty. Maybe you can try tweaking it so the rounds become shorter by reaching a challenging difficulty level faster. That way you may invite the player to replay in order to top their high score.
All in all a very solid entry.
Thank you very much everyone for your constructive comments !!! I truely appreciate :D
Regarding the first click for hand rising, as written on a previous comment, I wanted to had a kind of cooldown so that the player don't spam stone throwing, that was making the game terribly easy. But maybe it was not the most effctive way to do this :)
For aiming down, if I had done it, then you would have been able to kill all the ennemies by pulling the arrow to its maximum power, having this limitation makes you to perform some weak shots also.
And I totally agree with difficulty raising and the girl following the arrow direction with her eyes, I would have like to do it with a bit more time, but I only had 28h to make this game, so it misses some polishing. ^^'
Thank you again for your feedbacks !!! :D
Very simple and very rich. Good use of mechanics. Good graphic design.
The game art is pretty impressive! Very good! I made 52 points! The audio of the game combine with scene well.
Fantastic atmosphere. A good bit of fun too, although I found myself wrestling with the corner of the window a bit. Excellent use of the theme.
Really good graphics and music, all the atmosphere in general. Good work!
Really good for a 1st game! Great art and mood, and the gameplay is responsive. Just need some more polish and variety but it's already a good work for only 2 days :)
Lovely little moody game with neat graphics. It's pretty cool for a first one, i enjoyed it a lot. Was simple but efficient.
Nice work! My only critique is that I wish it weren't just an arcade game, but rather if there was some win condition. I really wanted to help the poor girl escape some how...
Also, on itch.io if you label your downloads properly, people will be able to install directly from the itch client which is always handy! :D
You just saw me playing your game live. You can watch it again here: https://youtu.be/AAa6rb4l3oI
I see big potential with this art style and atmosphere. I'd like to see more puzzle steps or other mechanics. Please keep working!
Thank you for the game.
Very nice visuals and atmosphere! I only made it to 47 eliminated nightmares. It would be cool to continue work on it and add more types of enemies :)
Fantastic graphics, lovely atmosphere too! Simple but engaging gameplay, would of loved to see different enemies but still for 48 hours it was very well made. I loved how the enemies turned me into even more goth :P. Very well done ^^
Simple but fun!
It seemed endless because i had killed 200 nightmares...
Agree with @Dvorgaz, the click for picking up is unnecessary.
Really nice graphics and interesting way to connect angry bird/ crush castle throw mechanics with wave defense. Only that rock pick up part before throw makes it less of fun.
60 my best score! I feel at some point just to difficult to handle it. Also I don't know why is she there! Really good work for your first game! And great art! Keep going!
Wow, that was a pretty simple but a pretty solid entry. I liked the details in your pixel work, and I liked how you worked the polish of a pretty simple idea. It was also really nice to have the rock bounce and kill multiple nightmares in on rock.
My score was 34 :-) Not the best, but it is mine :-P
One thing that bothered me a bit is that you needed two clicks to throw a stone. I would have liked to be able to pick and throw with a single click.
Also, after the nightmares start coming, something interesting could happen if you managed to throw another rock through the window.
Thanks for the cool game!
This is very nice, as special Graphics.
For me this game take gameplay of "Angry Birds", but have another Idea of why I should it to play!
Poor girl, doomed to be devoured by nightmares ;'(
Congrats on your first entry though, your game is great! The art is really impressive for a compo entry, the music fits the vibe perfectly and reinforces it and the gameplay itself is quite fun. Amazing entry for your first compo!
That's a great start! The aesthetics and mood are really well done, I like the design of the enemies.
I think the cooldown time of the arm is not necessary, you should be able to aim right after having thrown a stone, it makes the game difficult without any purpose.
Cool idea to make the intro that requires me to learn the controls. This was very effective.
I killed 46 nightmares for my top score.
Art and sound are very well done. If I could change one thing, I would try to remove the two-clicks and somehow make it work with one click per throw, even if it meant holding down the button (like click, drag to aim, release to throw).
Anyway, nice moody entry!
Lovely graphics, challenging game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/YxApuQ84rNY

I love the arts,mood and sounds :)
This game is rather simple but effective.
(It's not the best game for the humor category ^^)
