Flow / Spore / Osmos clone with great polish.
Fantastic audio, effects.

Actually fits the theme in a good way.

Controls could be improved. The acceleration doesn't feel great. Wished Marimo rotated in the direction of movement.

What Palmish said, surprised the web player could handle all these collisions

wish there was more variety in things to eat, you could really build off this idea

Thanks KadaDev. I had been playing with different ways to do collision detection between thousands of objects and that's why I wanted to try making this game. The detection isn't from any engine, I made it just for this entry.

good job. had fun taking over the sea :P Only thing i would suggest its some variation in sprites though in saying that once you get huge it wouldnt really be visible lol.

Very cool minigame! I like that the other algae move to the beat of the music. Few minor flaws:
For some reason it did not run in chromium, but chrome was fine. Also if you just wait long enough, all the enemies get very small and you can just eat them all at once

Fun little entry. I enjoyed the happy, festive music and sound effects. There seemed to be a point where you reach critical mass and then there is no competition anymore. Would be nice to have some struggle until the end. Great job!

They all shatter into little ones after a while. Aside from that, it's a fun entry. Big props for such a collision detection in a JS gaem. Music was also great.

It wasn't polished, but I wouldn't expect that from an LD game. I love the music and sound effects.

The concept's simple, and ties into the theme decently enough. I love the audio effects and music, and there's a fair bit of polish in the animations. Unfortunately, the game ended up being horribly buggy for me.

First, the hitboxes seemed to be way off, especially in the late game. I'd run through a crowd of blobs and only the ones near my center would get consumed.

The camera seemed to zoom out in really weird and unpredictable ways; I'm sure it had something to do with my size but with that size constantly changing it was hard to get a handle on what I was looking at. Some control over the camera zoom would have helped here.

At some point during my game, something happened which caused all the blobs to get tiny and run away from me, bumping into each other and getting even smaller. [ ]

A couple design flaws: it's a bit difficult to tell which blobs are bigger/smaller. Color-coding them like in Osmos would have helped a lot.

It's also easy to get stuck between a couple larger blobs, losing size with each bounce with no real control.

I realize bug squashing takes a while and with ludum dare you have to cut your losses somewhere. And this game shows plenty of potential with its graphics, audio, controls, and AI. But the general feeling of an unstable, buggy experience kills a lot of the enjoyment.

Simple idea, similar to Not very difficult to beat, made it on my first try. But pretty cute.

Graphics are basic but work. Music is decent, the "yummy" effect could have done with more variants.

Good naming and Good job! =)
Also game have very pretty and nice gameplay, but idea is not so original and there many elements that can be included for more fun.

It's really cute! Especially thanks to the sound and cool music. The speed/friction is a bit off, but it's nice.

I wish it wasn't so easy to win - it ramps up crazily fast, but it's a cool thing. Congrats!

Very cute game! Love it! Single-player without all the racist names :)

Controlls feel good, music is nice. The graphics are simple but cute. Liked this game very much.

(I didn't know that algae eat other algae... :D)
