Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

The Oval Office

by Zener - Compo Entry

In The Oval Office you take the role of president Trump and as such you take the decisions. You must survive all 4 years of Trump mandate without destroying the world.

To play you only need to choose the action to take using the two buttons at the bottom of the screen. Each action will have consequences in economy, people's health, earth health and peace status. If any of them reaches 0 you will lose. The game ends on January 2021 when Trumps mandate ends.

This game only pretends to be fun to play and doesn't support any political views. It doesn't pretend to offend anybody despite using some of Trumps quotes.

The idea came up after brainstorming the theme, a game in one of the most important rooms in the world would be fun. I had not much available time (again), but this time I tool the oportunity to learn (a bit) about HaxeFlixel.

Developed using HaxeDevelop, Notepad++ and Paint Shop Pro.

Cool take on Reign's mechanics.
Completed this on my first run and thought it was pretty fun.

Gahh it's hard but so fun haha. Great game the choices are actually really tough after a while. I was low on money mostly.

Yeahh, I survived (and so did the world)!

Nice and funny take on Reigns with awesome pixel art. Balancing the four areas here was reasonably easy and made sense.

Awesome job!

Nice game, a shame the button clicks are glitchy made it really annoying.

Really interesting take on the theme. Interesting mechanic, though I wish there was a little more gray area -- honestly probably how I feel about politics in general. I liked the combination of serious things (what do we do about ISIS?) with not so serious questions about the zombie apocalypse.

Great art! Great work all around.

Loved the idea! We had a lot of fun pretending we were Trump. One of us even did the voices and role played. Had a ton of fun playing it. Great job!

Very funny entry. Nice usage of the mechanics for this inspired decision-based game. The options are varied and made me laugh for their simplicity, yet they seemed so obvious (still managed to destroy the world somehow).

Overall good balance and fun!
