Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Where's Mommy

by Billion Bits - Jam Entry

Where's Mommy is a game that tells a story about a kid who needs to face his fears and imagination in order to leave the room and find his mother. The scope was quite pretentious, but we tried to use different mechanics in order to show how creative and scary one's mind can be.
We surely planned more content then we could deliver such as a boss fighr at the end, but we were really happy with the results, specialy considering the small team.
Talking about them, big thanks to Marcos Pereira (dev), Pedro D. Almeida(chars and animations) and Lucasograssi (music and sfx) for all the effort! We designed quite an interesting game and it would never come to this without you. You guys are amazing! Also, we'd like to thank Malu Cascelli for the great help with the logo! Even close to the deadline, she agreed to help us with that and that's pretty valuable for the Billion Bits team!
We hope you enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed making it (except when we wanted to die from frustration). The lack of polishment might be quite iminent, but it was the best we could do at the time. Thank you all for trying out our game and we are waiting for your feedback!

Edit 01:
---SPOILER ALERT: Don't read any further unless you couldn't progress in the game---

So, aperently (and comprehensively) people are having difficulty on findind out what to do at the start of the game, despite the small (and maybe too small) hints we planned while level designing. Some features we didn't have time to implement would've helped, be since the situation is there, here follows a list of hints to help you:

1- Your objective is to scape the room (and find Mommy) and since there's obviously a monster trying to get you, you need to find ways to travel safely and find the light switch.

2- Every time you turn a light on you get a very sutil hint on where to find the next light source. Look for stars or things on the wall, for example. (spamming "E" might be needed)

3- Some items are needed to interact with unavailable light sources (such as the wall socket my friend DHWorlds refered to in the comments)

I hope this will sufice. Sorry if we caused any trouble but you know, jams are for experimenting as well =)

This game was loking extremely cool, but seriously, I spent ~10 mins trying to understand what I should do and yet no result. Too hard to comprehend for me, sorry.

Hey Guys, i'm One of this game's Artists. for the sole purpose of letting you experience the Whole game here goes some tips that didn't make into the game because of the time limit.
You need to Pick up a Item to interact with the wall socket and progress.
In the Lava level you also have to interact with certain items.
Sure this helps at least a bit. Thanks for the Patience, enjoy.

It's a bit difficult to understand what you have to do in the game but the idea is brilliant. A walkthrough may help.

Hmmmm.... even with your tips I can't figure out how to progress from standing next to the lamp... there doesn't seem to be anything I can reach without getting caught...

Thats kinda of a scary game and i really liked it! good job with the mood of it! i just thought the game could be a little more longer like using different set ups of rooms, but for 48 hours development, i think its ok! good job!

I also couldn't figure it out what I should do. I saw the big star and thought that maybe it was related to small star. I really liked the idea of being guided by stars and not by instructions. Maybe if something more responsive happened when you reach the big star the players could guide themselves more.
All in all, I loved the idea of the game! You were very sucessful in conveying the atmosphere of being a frightened kid in the dark. Contratulations! Keep up the great work!

Pretty difficult to figure out what to do and how to do it, but I tried my best because of the cool graphics and this childhood crazy creative mind feelings, and I really enjoyed after all.
Cool one.
