Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Controls: WASD to move around the level. Press space while moving for a burst of speed.
Explore the tomb of the golden ducky, plunder the 6 idols and dodge the hazards including, arrows, spears and snakes disguised as vines to complete the game!
The one room theme was used to determine the limitations on level layout (minus the menu) with a tomb being the perfect setting for a large connected area with no divisions.
Move towards the golden ducky on the menu screen to start the game, move to the exit door to quit the game.
Have fun!
Goal:
Explore the tomb and collect 6 golden duckies.
Features:
Fancy menu screen
Dash (space + direction) to help move around quicker and dodge the traps
Traps (snakes, spikes, spears)
Many (MANY) animations including rare idle, walking, dashing and climbing
Camera that zooms in / out depending on area of the level
Fancy music and sound affects
Specs:
Run in windowed for best results
Credits:
Matthew Robinson – Programming / Game design / Level design.
Daniel Waite – Art / Animation / Game design.
Amos Rock-Davidson – Music / SFX.
Honourable mentions:
Tim Hogan – Spider / Spider animation / Cobweb.

We got quite a similiar naming strategy, well done, I keep dying in a very weird spot though
Very nice pixel graphics and nice atmosphere! The movement speed is a little too slow. It's still a nice entry though!
For me there was a logical disconnect why you always climb and the speed was sooooo sloooow and why is duck in the title when you can not duck. Pretty cool graphics and sound though.

"Move towards the golden ducky on the menu screen to start the game, move to the exit door to quit the game.
"
Your not the first to make that mistake, we tried to make an interesting menu screen, that "button" (green door) on the left exits the game, the "Duck" on the right starts it :)
Amazing audio and pixel art! Very atmospheric and relaxing game
Great game overall, but I really wish there was a way to move faster :D
Great art and music! As others said, the movement was a bit too slow. Overall good entry, well done!
Nice game ! The graphics and the music are good, it manage to create a good mood. The gameplay is a kind of slow and repetitive, maybe more traps or moves would have spiced it ? Anyway, good work !
Nice game, i just would have prefer to move a bit quicker, but overall, i loved it ! :)
Seems like a pretty cool game but the player movement is ridiculously slow and boring, the art is incredible though. Good job :)
Great graphic, audio and level design. The movement speed is a bit too slow and the camera too close
Edited the description to include features of the game (dont know why I didn't include that originally) ^^
This is a very interesting movement mechanic, I don't think I've seen it before (although I guess you can think of it as just top down, but for some reason it doesn't feel that way). When I grabbed the ducky in the top left corner, I thought I had beat the game because I went up into my hat (didn't hear the death sound effect). Only when I went to play the game again to explore the rest of the tomb did I realize the vines are what killed me.
The graphics and sound is really nice indeed, however the movement speed is like sliding on the wall instead of moving and the acceleration is so low...
The movement speed really needs increasing... it was a big turn off for me :(
Too slow. I dislike that dangers stay on screen for such a long time and you can bump by mistake into them.
The art style and music are really cool, and create an interesting mood. The player definitely needs to be faster, the game is really slow paced as it is. Additionally, the hitboxes are extremely unforgiving, and it would be good to have a clearer indication of where the shooting traps are.
Great job. Game has a nice feel to it. The game could be sped up a bit as I found it took a very long time to get around and maybe a point or scoring system. Really enjoyed it. Keep up the fantastic work. You and your team should be very proud
Cool atmosphere. As said before, i think the player needs to move faster. Good work, keep going!
Loved the music, and visuals, but found the gameplay to be a bit tedious I'm afraid.
I'd recommend changing the dropbox download link to use dl=1 instead of dl=0. This will provide a direct download instead of a redirect to dropbox.
Loving the spritework in this game! The gameplay is pretty solid! I had a lot of fun inching past the deadly traps. I was an arms reach away from last ducky when my dash to avoid incoming spikes slightly veered me off into the spikes on the other side of the wall... and then my motivation to try again was shot. It feels very tedious having to redo everything when you die considering the movement speed. I think the movement speed might work well if every ducky was a checkpoint, or there was a checkpoint in the middle of the level. Very cohesive entry though, everything felt pretty polished.
Too slow: especially when walking, even it doesn't happen a lot ^^.
And pixel precision collision box, nice work.
Good music and sfx. Muscic stops at some time, bug ?
And... "Dive" ? (But I didn't finished the game ^^)

Okay, now that I understood that I actually played your game instead of the interesting menu ;-)
Quite liked it. It feels like a very smooth, chilled version of Rick Dangerous if anyone remembers that. Very nice art and I like slowly collecting all golden duckies.
The climbing audio fx is too long, which leads to it noticeably still playing after you finished climbing.
It would be great to have some kind of hint in which direction one can find the next ducky, because claimbing all the way into one direction to find out there was nothing can be frustrating - especially the part where you are slowly climbing back all the way you came.
I also really wish for some kind of checkpoint - maybe after collecting a duck, so you don't have to do all again from the beginning.
Overall a very nice project though with great artwork, relaxing music and smooth gameplay.
I loved the death animation(which is good because i died more often then not) Glad im not the only one who headed to the exit before realizing it was the main menu.
I love the pixel animations! The death animation is great and I love how it reacts to you standing on a platform.
The hitboxes could use a little work, it's not totally clear why I died to spikes some of the time. Also, it'd be nice to start the game more zoomed out, it felt kind of claustrophobic. Great start overall!

Pretty cool game i like the idea of centering the game around climbing. What i think would have improved the game is slightly increasing the movement speed.
