Smiting Blade

Huge thanks to all my Discord friends for suggesting I try this!

A short wave-based game I made to push myself into a game-creation mood. The aim is to control your sword to destroy the enemies on screen, whilst not taking damage.

By "slicing" with your sword, you can reach further than you first thought. Use this to tackle the more difficult foes in the last levels.

Although weak at first, your sword can be outfitted with upgrades to its strength, or its speed(which also increased range slightly)!

After about 7 or 8 attempts I made it to level 6. I couldn't figure out how to beat the shields. I had a little trouble with the controls and resorted to just moving backwards till enemies died. Trying to slash and move always resulted in me going handle first into enemies. I wish there were a better way to recover health than wasting my upgrade. :(

Cool game! Not so challenging on the beggining but it gets really hard to survive at the 3 wave, also as Kizler already said, there should be another way to recover your HP than wasting upgrade points, oh, and yes, those yellow turrets are pain in ass.

The shield enemies need to be hit from behind, so the slashing movement is the better way to attack them. They were kind of hastily added and I probably would have put a better enemy type in had I thought of it.
