Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Down the Cave
You have to progress one room at a time.
Defeat all the monsters in the current room before you can go deeper down in the cave.
Four different enemies with different functionality.
Learn their patterns to make it easier for you!

MAC USERS:
You need some kind of unzipping program (like WinRar on Windows) to extract the files first.

@Tauka: I think you have to use a Mac version of WinRar or something similar. I only have Windows, so it is very difficult for me to test it out :(
But I just uploaded a web version. Maybe that will work :)
Anyway, thanks for letting me know!
@FiloGC: Yay! You won :D Thanks so much for the reply. Means a lot!
Amazing background music, Very fun to play, Nice graphics.
I like it. But maybe add healing potion or something like that.
@tomer_cool: Thansk a lot! I really appreciate that comment :)
I had plans to add healing potions as drops from enemies, but since I didn't have time to add more enemy types, I figure that I had to make the game harder (to make it last more than 1 min). Then it would be best to leave out any form of healing, since I only had content to fill 9 levels.
I may add more enemies (and more rooms), so I can finally add some healing potions.
This game was pretty fun but I don't know how it works with the theme of one room
Great job on finishing a game! Aside from the lack of a reset system, it's pretty complete. Lots of mechanics and a pretty robust implementation, and very little art that looks noticeably like placeholder art.
Gameplay-wise, the game is awfully slow. If you made the game maybe 10x faster, it would be intense and difficult, but as it stands the early levels are tedious enough that I didn't want to try to play through it a second time after I died. There are so many skulls and they are easily the least interesting monster, the jumping bugs are the piece de resistance of the game and if I died before seeing them I likely never would have.
Also I'm not quite sure 'one room at a time' fits with the theme...but it's cheeky anyway. :)
Nice game. :D
I lost on level 8. I noticed that it said that left click shoot even though it should be "attack" or "slash."
Starts a little slow, but fun to play. Background music is great!
Good looking game, so good looking I wish I hade some more to do as a character, either way nice job!
It's well made, though more enemy variety is needed earlier on... Keep working on it :D
This is cool. Damn if I didn't walk into lava all the time :)
good game. Easy to start plaing. Please add improved graphics and more gameplay features.
Solid game with good gameplay. Got to the end (victory!). The difficulty spikes quite a bit near the end but the progression of the mechanics was well thought out. The chopping sound did remind me of cutting grass after a while :)
Cool fun game, power up to clear the larger easier groups in 1 shot would have been be nice, great work.
I liked how the controls were nice and responsive. The song wasn't bad, and the graphics are charming.
This might be just me, but I felt like the sword's range was a bit lacking, maybe you could have made it longer or added another weapon.
I do feel like the game's pace is a bit too slow. Increasing the character's movement speed, making the rooms smaller, increasing the range of both your and the enemies attacks would help I feel.
Overall, a solid game.
P.S. I counted eight rooms before I died.
One of my favourites so far, Great music and graphics! The sword sound like a hair salong scissor, so I imagine myself being a backwards walking hair dresser cutting the hair of the enemies :)
Cute graphics! Sometimes the controls would mess up (or at least feel that way, like the character would start moving in a direction I didn't intend, or wouldn't respond. I was using FireFox, playing the web build). I think the game could use more "oomph". The tiny graphics make it feel dainty, when I kind of expect to feel more powerful from this kind of game.
Nice entry, good audio!
Locking the cursor would be a good addition.
Super smooth controls and gameplay. Since there is no consequence for attacking you should allow the player to hold the left mouse button down :)
Great job!
Cool game, the music are pretty nice and it's start to get more challenging on the 4 th room, but it's veeeery slow, adding some tempo would make this game more funnier I guess, also it's very funny to juggle around those puffy charging beetles :D
Great Game! Loved the music and the controls were easy. Got the jist of the game easily. Well done!
Victory! =) I loved that little applause every time I finished the floor haha, a liiiitle bit slow gameplay...but u worked hard! Keep going!
The art is really cool. I think You can work more on this project to do a really cool steam game
I really liked the different types of enemies. Only the first levels are a little slow.
Aaaand it would be nice if the enemies were also affected by lava :)
Really liked the sound effects and the response you get when killing the skulls. Really smooth control and it was overall a really polished game.
The music could have been something more fitting, but still a great soundtrack. There could have been more varying types of enemies, but still the skulls were enough of a challenge. The Game over screen was much too slow, could have been a little more faster.
But still overall a really nice game with good amount of polish! :)
thought it was too simple at first, but it does require some moving strategies not to die later in some levels :) and responsive controls, good one!
A story about Blink, Links third cousin from the mountain village :P
great entry, nice diversity on the enemies, and pleasant to my ears :)
Thanks for the game!
The music really fit with the gameplay. The sound effects were great too.
After I gameovered I wasn't sure if I needed to press anything to start again or if the game would restart after a set amount of time.
Some small suggestions:
Landing a slash didn't feel very juicy. Maybe some slight knockback or screenshake would do it.
The environment was pretty cool, but I think it's missing something - maybe some way of encouraging the player to kite the enemies towards part of the level.
Cool stuff!
