Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Frosty Arena

by Benstar - Jam Entry

Imagine a turn based roguelike, yes you did? Well, welcome to Frosty Arena, where you have to defeat enemies to stay alive. Fight against hordes of enemies and try to stay alive as long as possible. Plan out every move and try to trick your enemies to win in the end.

Controls: You move with the arrow keys, if you move into an enemy, you'll attack it.

I'll plan to add more content in the coming weeks, like more enemy types, pickups, worlds, options and so on

Pretty nice, I like it! The movement is a bit slow and annoying as such, a bit faster would help a lot.

Do you mean the movement speed of the character or how long it takes till its your turn again?

Fun game play and great art style. One thing I noticed is that sometimes enemies wont spawn on certain waves. Still a good entry though!

Turns are slow as everyone said. The concept is very nice. I also got to wave eleven. Wish there was some kind of AOE attack I could use :)

Nice game :D but too easy, I think you shuld add on or two features to make it more interesting.

I thought it was pretty good. I liked the visuals, especially for the little snowballs and the music was catchy and helped a lot with the setting.

Some suggestions:
- I feel like the wave shouldn't change or end until all the enemies for that wave are dealt with
- I didn't realize that some enemies move every other turn. Having a cool down indicator of some such above their head (ex. 1 turn till move) would help. I assumed they would move every turn.
- It would help if the room was smaller, I had to wander around trying to find the first enemy for wave 1.
- I'm not sure what setting the turns at the start of the game actually does.

Overall it was pretty fun :D

The Turns setting changes how many turns each wave takes :D, maybe should have explained that ingame :/

Glad I didn't have to rate the music, because you have to cut it after 2 minutes if you don't want to go nuts!
Anyway, this game is good ! Real fun and original idea !

Lovely graphics! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I like the art style, but the implications of blood do not look appropriate for the deaths in the style you're going for. :P

Like others have said, the movement definitely feels very unresponsive, like there's a huge delay until you get to go again. If the controls were more fluid, they would definitely feel more fitting with the music you used.
