Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Hey - I'm excited to check this out but all the links (except source) 404 for me - is the game not published yet?

Game looks really neat, but the links don't work for me either.

Had to whip Unity out and download your project to play. But very good. So meta! :D

Oops, I've updated the download links, I left them set to "Draft" by accident. :) Sorry about that!

I... like the fact that the hygiene need didn't actually need satisfying. :D (Worked fine on Windows 7 here BTW.)

I love the graphics style and the audio.
The only downside is that I had to die 3 times before I found out what ??? means :D

Amazing game. Not as though as a real ludum dare tho
Be careful with this kind of game, someone might get pissed of and rate your game the same way your game rate them. hahahaa
Anyway that was amazing, so you have excellent rates from me

Dec 12, 2016 @ 6:41pm

Ahahah, really nice mise en abyme !

A bit dangerous for my forefinger though. :D
Graphics are serving this game very well !

Overall: 4/5. A very good game.
Innovation: 4/5. For the metagame.
Fun: 5/5. Played 4 rounds.
Theme: 5/5, only for the meta theme usage.
Graphics: 5/5, very nice isometric pixel art.
Audio: 3/5, song is pretty short.
Humor and Mood: N/A cause I'm bad at rating those.

Is it possible to actually "win"?

Fun game, very fast paced (took me a few rounds before I understood what I was even doing). Nicely done.

Very Fun game !
Graphics and music are cool !

It's possible to do a good score ?
My final rank is arround #400 Overall ^^

ha ha This is a great game! I feel like you really captured the Ludum Dare experience.

Amazing game, though a bit unrealistic. Everyone knows that you can't eat or sleep during a game jam.

Really cool!
Very simple game, takes one try to understand, it is fun and the theme is well used.
Graphics are cool, but I dont like the music that much ...

Nice style and idea (remind me game dev story)
But it's so fast, it's a bit frustrating...

(my best:
#1 in innovation
#268 overall )

Nice and tight little experience, relatively challenging (at least on a monday), but certainly doable!

The results of my first 'win' where only a little less than my actual first game :-)

That was Awesome!

I like the ??? Which I kinda think is going for a toilet break! (in a bucket?) Doing a game jam, you don't go till you REALLY have to go. hahaha :)

I had the same idea, but doubt I would have done it justice, you really rocked this though!

"Played for a few rounds, it's ok"

Seriously though, solid idea and well executed. The beeping stressed me out but I guess that was the point. Also I like how hygiene slowly creeps up but is never addressed. ;)

Hey, thanks for checking out my game! (All that you missed is that you can leave the room when you put your clothes back on!)

This is a really cool concept. I played a few rounds, because I was interested to see what sort of comments my game would get, or if I could get a high overall rating. It didn't make sense that I couldn't breach the top #200 with #1 graphics and fun, so, a tad more balancing could have gone into it. A bit more variety of comments would have kept me curious a bit longer, too.

Graphically you did well, aside from the HUD. I felt like the HUD was kinda thrown together just because the game needed one. Same-ish vibe I got from the music. Both decent, however.

Aside from these, you had a pretty solid idea and execution. Keep it up! :>

Really fun with a neat little mechanic. #345 was my best and I think I'm unlikely to top that in this compo! The addition of a hygiene was a nice touch. :)

Very cool and fast paced with lots to manage. Toilet (???) got heavy use, might want to cut down on the caffeine intake.

Yeah I think it's impossible to hit #1, it was in earlier builds but it felt too easy -- maybe because this is my first LD and I don't expect to get anywhere near that myself. ;) If I had thought of it in time, I might have made the scaling a bit easier and maybe add a slight levelling bonus on later rounds (to reflect your LD experience). But I would consider making it to the end with nice comments a "win". Thanks for your comments. :D

Simple game but pretty fun! I would have loved to play on a tablet so I could tap the screen really fast. It made me laugh because I had to go to the loo just as often in real life from all the tea I drunk. Cute graphics and nice chiptune. Awesome work!

Dec 14, 2016 @ 6:27pm

Bonus points for being super meta ^^
Really liked it, but I feel like maybe the playing time on one round is a little short. I mean, 48h goes by really fast when you're aiming for a LD Compo deadline, but maybe not quite that fast ^^

Worked well for me, awesome idea! I managed to pass it but it really reflects the stress of fast development. A bucket has never been so useful!

The game is nothing like actually participating which is a good thing, because the game is really enjoyable and addicting. After a while I just tried different gaming aspects to see what the comments would say.
Plus the art style is really great. For me it's one of those short games that you play over and over.

Super top! Very simple, but simply fun. I played 5 or 6 rounds, it's really quick and that's good, because you can try to be better in different "ratings" and read the fun comments without getting bored. Art is nice, IMHO the less the pixels, the better it is XD

Really good implementation of a basic concept. The art, highlighting on mouseover, and the little chiptune loop ties the game together in a tight good looking package.

Looks like you spent a while on your computer for this LD (ie it was fun). The art work was good and the music/sfx matched the art as well. The music did not get too repetitive. I truly hope you did not spend your weekend in one room as that would get kinda boring.

PS: "???" still gets me most of the time, d'oh. Too focused on jamming! >_<

I like the different results you can get depending on what aspect of the game you focus on, adds some replay value.

The pixel art is nice, especially like the look of the midi-keyboard.
However the desk and chair look a bit too much like the floor imo.
The gradient for the meter colors looks good :)

The meters are neatly organized, all the placement makes sense.

The music works, it's nothing special and short but it gets the job done.

The sound effects for the meters are doing a good job of telling the player what is going on. Nice.

I would have liked to see some more visual or auditory cues for what you are currently doing though. Some sound effects or a different sprite for the object you're interacting with.

I feel like you could have expanded on the humor with longer reviews at the end of the game.

Funny game, very meta :)

The various "resources" played well together, and the results screen was a very nice touch.

The feedback was good, once the link between ??? and its object was clear. The warnings when approaching the limit were a godsend, considering the very fast pacing of the game.
