Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

"You awake in a strange room...
It is pitch black.
If your light goes out, who knows what could happen.
Find a way out."

Blackout is a 2D escape game where the player must collect enough gold and find the trap door before his torch goes out. Fuel laying around the map delays the extinguishing of the torch.

Controls: Arrow Keys, Enter (Menus)

I lost about 8 hours of development time to other commitments... #rip

Thanks for playing my very first Unity game! :)

Congrats on your first LD, and great game! I love how the game looks, that being said I think you know that it's sometimes hard to differentiate between walls and the floor, if you gave the floor a different color and texture it would help the players get around easier.
The lightning effect on the torch also looks great, a quick question here, if you don't collect torch fuel do you actually lose because everything is covered in darkness and you can't see anything? I waited a little bit and it didn't seem happen, but it would be cool.
The audio, although simplistic, creates a great retro feeling which fits the game.
The controls are easy to understand and are quite pleasant.
Sorry for the long post, it's just because I really liked your game and I think you have a lot of potential and you'll make some great games in the years to come, so good luck!
