Ludum Dare 37 — December 9th-11th, 2016 — Theme: One Room

Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Inside the Cube

by vinipc - Compo Entry

There are more levels after the credits!
Yes, I regret putting them there already.

Traverse a 3D room 2D at a time.

You're a green cube and must get to the green platform by shifting perspective and looking at the room in 2D. There are a few hand-made levels so players can learn and get a grip on the gameplay. Then, you can play indefinitely in randomly generated levels (solvability not guaranteed).

This was my first time participating in a Ludum Dare and working completely solo, so any and all feedback is much appreciated.

This is well executed, but I don't really feel it is one room.

Nice, reminds me a bit of fez.

This is awesome. I love it. I get the 3D rotation. It reminds me a bit of Fez. Love your take on the one room theme.

A little bit like FEZ but this extra rotation is really nice.

Yeah, I have to think of fez too, but you executed the concept very well. And I like the bounce animation and particles. Why can I rate the mood, but not the graphics?

Really good gameplay; it was a really cool idea. I'm not so sure about how well it fit the theme, but overall it was great!

Impressive! Very easy to navigate between the different views. I think you could easily sell the game.

Pretty solid little game, when you get to the core mechanic, this is the reason why I gave you some stars ;)

Maybe a bit off on the jam's topic, but pretty polished game. I enjoyed the animations and sounds and I'm actually happy that there's no music. Nice!

@c4m @Josho @Starlight concerning the theme, my thought was that you had to constantly remember each level is a single room, even though each view makes it seem like different rooms.
At least that's what I think I was thinking. Coming up with these kinds of ideas at around 2 in the morning is hard.

@Leon Mohring glad you liked the animations! I'm not an artist by any means, so I didn't even bother putting the graphics up for a vote.

I don't know how this submission related to the jam theme, but I really like cube moving animation. So cute! Sound effects is also very nice.
Good job!

Nice! It would have been nice to mention that there are only three points of view, and to differentiate the two side views somehow. Still, a nice perspective manipulation game. The randomly generated levels work surprisingly well :)
