Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Room Loop

by piwicode - Jam Entry

When `bloby` manages to reach the exit, an evil mastermind rewinds the time and makes it harder.
Everything happens in one room where reality seems to be uncertain.

/!\ Stereo sound, and coloured particles only work on Windows. HTML5 kind of works but is not as good.

Controls: Keyboard & gamepad are supported.

`F`, `F11` : Full screen
`space` : jump & wall jump
`arrows` : move

Made by a team of 3 random guys. That's our first participation to a Jam, feedback is much welcome!

BUGFIX: Enable WebGL on the HTML5 version.

The platforming is okay. Art is simple but cute. Music works very well.
I didn't like the diyng sound too much. I think it stands out too much.
I like the particles pointing out whats new every time you rewind.

What makes this interesting is the take on the theme:
One in reverse evolving room!

"From Paris with Love" ;)

Excellent entry, I love it!
The art and audio is outstanding (I love the rewind sound, and the animation of the exit portal). The overall mood is terrific too 5/5. The rewind effect is very good.
Gameplay-wise, it's simple at first, but it quickly becomes very challenging. I had a very hard time completing the last level! I really love how you manage to use this single room so many times by flipping it over.

Overall, it's a very fun and creative entry, I really enjoyed completing it! I'm quite amazed that it's only your first Jam, I'm eager to see what you're going to do next time!

P.S.: What tools did you use to make the game? Coded by hand?

I think this is a really clever take on the one room theme.

Really really fun game !
The rewind effect is amazing, and the wall jump is really sweet... That's a bit to bad that it isn't possible to wall jump twice in a row on the same wall like in super meat boy...
Excellent art and execution

@drludos Thanks, this is based on GameMaker.
@Yamzho Thanks, we want to revamp the levels after the JAM. We were short on time and the way level hare build makes refactoring time consuming. We would have like to deliver more.

Great Game! the simple controls made the gameplay fun and responsive. i loved the idea. Gameplay reminded me of Super Meat Boy. very clever use of the theme rewinding the level and reusing it with an extra part added which makes it more difficult each time!

My favorite entry so far. Really enjoyable, challenging in a good way. Nice audio. I loved the level design and was really awed when the room rotated.

Reminds me of the This is the only level series by Armor Games.

I liked the atmospheric music and the death sound effect. The game is well thought out and the rewind mechanic underlines the OneRoom concept in a nice way. Great little game!

Really fun game, minimalistic graphics fits great into this theme. Simple supreme hard platformer :) Great entry

Dec 13, 2016 @ 6:10pm

Adding the ability to use WASD as well as the arrows would've made the controls a lot easier! :) Cool game, great music, nice art and cool mechanics. Love the "rewinding"!

@Ygogo Ho, nooo, try to stick on the wall. You need to see the rotation! Thanks for playing :)

This was awesome. The audio was particularly awesome. Set a real nice vibe, and the death sound felt like it was part of the music. Very cool.

The bounce upon landing kinda threw me off a tad. Perhaps if you were rewarded for jumping on the bounce (eg: with a bigger jump) it would have been cool.

Graphically, a bit to be desired. However, the rewind effect was super cool, and somehow the floaty morphy blob was fitting, too.

The level rotate is something I've been trying to play with in my own game design (outside of Ludum Dare), so it was awesome to see another game use it. And, the way you used it was very fitting. Added a whole new dimension to gameplay, from the same level layout.

Pretty solid entry. You guys should jam more. :>

Pretty cool game, i finished it! Kind a weird death sound, also the bass was kind of strong, my whole room was shaking haha, that said i did like how the music built up as the room built up :)

Not sure how to explain it, but the whole evolving level thing makes surprising amount of sense. :D When you see it, if feels like a natural continuation of the gameplay. The platforming felt solid as well.
Only I think the spawn point for the last stage might be better placed in the bottom left corner. When it's on top, you can just press right when spawning and avoid the leftmost well and all the spikes automatically.

Very well executed! The rewind part was a good point too.

A lot of resemblance to super meatboy, which is not bad. Technically impressive.
