Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Cute game, Really liked the aesthetic, but the platforming just doesn't feel very good, and I wasn't able to get past any of the green blocks. For future games I recommend trying to make sure the mechanics feel really nice for the play before trying to add extra details, like background decor, at least this is mostly important in platformers.
graphics are amazing!
There are some problems with controls, i didnt understand what i can do with green blocks. Also maybe you should improove your character control to feel him great
Anyway, good job was done and you done with LD!
Unsure where one room comes into play, but it's an interesting concept and a fun game.
the character control is weird. jumping and walking is very hard at first. i finish the game though hoo
The art is nice, and the concept is cool. There is no sound effect / music though. Is this a bug? (Tried on web browser)
A good idea and follows the theme well, but I got stuck after I got the machine gun.
I liked the character and idea, although the controls layout was a bit odd.
Solid graphics. It got stuck a lot in the beginning trying to figure out what the portals were for. Great job!
Loved this game! Recoil on gun felt nice! I really liked how you introduced things as well!
All the game mechanics/ new abilities were great. The movement is a little bit wonky though, I beat the game anyways. I like how the abilities were incorporated where you actually need them to beat the different little "puzzles"
The concept is great! I found myself a little frustrated in sections but I don't play many metroidvania games.
I found it very difficult to know if I should have been in certain sections. I feel that having a clearer sense of direction as a player would have helped out heaps.
The jumping mechanics were a little odd, I can't really put my finger on it but I feel like it was rigid in some sections.
Great work on getting the game completed, playing it with updated controls and a clearer idea of where to go would be awesome :)
Its an interresting idea and a great output given the time. I feel the only weakness with this game comes with the platforming being a little wonky and what starts out as just good solid game development (tutorials being simply push X button) turns a tad confusing when you get to the "gun recoil" section. Its not that its difficult (challenge is a good thing) but i spent a bit figuring out i had to get those symbol things. Furthermore In platforming in that section was a tad unintuitive. Unlike the other sections, each challenge needed the new mechanic to be beaten, but with recoil, you didnt know what the effects of it were and how it affected you until you explored the maze and started making assumptions.
I had played cave story in the past so i tried to propel myself up with the recoil only then did i figure out if i ran forward and abruptly turned + fired i could get the symbol in the bottom. I only tried this BECAUSE i had played Cave Story in the past.
Overall the game is a nice idea and i recomend you expand on it
The controls need some workout. The char felt stuck sometimes, not sure why. Overall, good game. Hope to see more.
The controls are a little bit too uncertain. You should rewrite your character control script. The aesthetic is good enough - and mood interesting. Well done ++
Good and interesting Theme+idea combination.
Long reloading of level is the most frustrating part of a game. Maybe you should just move a character on level, not reload it.
Tooltips are good, but I spended some time to understand *run-jump* feature.
Shooting effect is cool. (as if You spent a lot of time to create it ;D )
Nice twist on the metroidvanian concept. I got 2/3, but I have no idea how to even try to get the top right piece.
I think the main issue that people are having with the feel of the character comes from the low acceleration and high top speed.
Nice work!
Neat! Fun concept, and I love how your abilities slowly unfold as you're taught the game.
The platforming is tough for me as a casual gamer. There are weird things where you bounce off walls when you jump, and when you're dangling from edges.
I really like the concept. Just tighten up the platforming and add some actual sound effects/music in the future.
Very cool, I think this is a great use of the theme, nice to see new possibilities open open up in the same room, almost like a super condensed Metroidvania. I couldn't figure out what to do when I got the machine gun, but I enjoyed it up til there!
The game play was fun, I really liked using the recoil to propel myself to platforms. The regular platform controls were a bit awkward. Overall good job!

Interesting idea, and seems like it could be really fun, but the feel of the platforming is a little odd. You shouldn't slow down/stop when you land/jump or whatever, which is what it feels like. Doesn't quite feel like you are in control.
Really cool other than that, and a post-compo version with improved controls could be really great :)
