Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

This was pretty fun! Simple and effective graphics. Controls were fairly tight, and it did feel a lot like Meat Boy as you mentioned.

My biggest complaint is that there's no urgency in any of the levels, so I just used the strategy of staying on the ground and waiting until the green orbs came near me to pick them up. This was effective, but also very boring in later levels, and I stopped after 17 or so. I think having a hard time limit on each level would encourage the player to take more risks to collect orbs and would be more exciting (although I suppose the player's movement right now is fairly limited, so maybe you'd need to have infinite jumps or something). Alternatively, if the orbs moved faster and less randomly, it could be pretty exciting trying to dodge them.

One small thing: I didn't like how if I finished a round in the upper half of the screen, the next round would spawn immediately, because sometimes a red orb would appear on top of me.

Anyways, this is quite a fun game, so nice job, especially with only 7 hours.

@qzqxq Thank you! Yes i have to solve the problems you mentioned. I think i will add some chance that the red orbs go directly towards the player. And also a little delay after a round is finished, so the player can stay out off the spawning zone.

P.S. Soon i will add this changes in a new version. The jam version will be the same, so please rate that one.

Simple, but addicting! Controls feel responsive and that is really was a must.

This was really fun, I think it really shows how having a simple, easy to implement idea can be the best way to go in game jams. The controls were tight to the point where whenever I got hit, I knew it was my fault. I think the only thing wrong with the game was that the next level of orbs would spawn immediately upon collecting the last green orb, which led to a lot of situations where I would collect orbs and get hit because they spawned on top of me. Additionally, some chill background music would be nice. Great job!

This game is the perfectly example of a simple game that just makes fun. Everything is concentrated on gameplay, the graphics, the sounds, it just feels good!

This was very fun, a simple arcade like game with a nice challenge to it. I really like these games personally. Wall jumping was a bit hard in the beginning, but I got the hang of it.

Simple, yet effective. I like how the wall jump works.
The graphics are minimalist but that's ok, the whole game has a very efficient approach so that didn't bothered me.
Good game !

Fun, simple gameplay that is very well excecuted. Presentation is a bit simple - I personally think it could've improved the game experience quite a bit to have a bit of context to the jumbing (ie. "you're a little dude collecting coins" or whatnot) but I understand why the focus is on other things, tight gameplay with simple graphics is often better than the other way around :)

Great, simple game. Controls were very smooth. Sometime waiting for a green to even be in striking range was a little tedious. I think a dash move would be great!

Super well done!

Nice simple game! I didn't watch the video at first and noticed that I can let the green dots come down to me. After watching the video I see that you can jump on the walls... perhaps reward player for picking up dots higher up on the screen?

simple but really interesting concept for the game play. I actually quite like the abstract/minimalist approach for graphics in this case.

Nice little time waster. Little bug where switching to a new level doesn't reset the player position so if you are in mid-air you can get orbs from the next wave right at the beginning. Don't know if that was intentional. Very nice use of wall jumping mechanic, with more level designs this can be an even better game.
