Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Here is Chumasquito's and Dragojt's miniproject for LudumDare37.
In this game with the "One room" theme we decided to make a procedural laberynth that changes when you're able to open the exit. Then a new laberynth apperars in the same room. Your goal: survive 3 minutes and collect lights as many you can.
This is our first LudumDare and we're still beginners at game developement. Please enjoy our game and thanks for watching it!
Controls:
Just arrow keys :P
THERE'S A MISTAKE IN THE GAME OVER SCREEN: instead of using space to return to menu is <ESC>

Thanks dude! We could have created a better game with more time xD
I really enjoyed the visuals. Looked like something straight from the 90s. Music was catchy (if a bit repetitive). Gameplay was a tad too simple. For example, your lighted area could get bigger as you gained more lights. Great job on the procedural generation!
I liked the gameplay and the music. I expected a creepier atmosphere though with the name and premise of the game. Some sound for the character and ghosts would be fun too. When your second timer is < 10 it changes to 2:9 instead of 2:09. I know it is just a UI thing, and it may be nitpicky but it bothered me if I am being honest. Other than that I think this is a solid game! Good job!
Had a lot of fun with this little title, extra sounds and music would of course be nice, and I also noticed that when you die it asks you hit space to return to the main menu which did not work for me, hitting Escape however did, so I'm not sur eif this is a bug or just a ui misplacement. The asthetic really reminded me too of the 80s/early 90s. Good job on your first LD project :)
Great job for making it procedural ! The gameplay is too simple, I would like more differents threats and traps, or interactions, but I think the next thing on which you should work is on feedbacks, the death and light collecting are just fonctionnal, make them feel terryfying and rewarding with sounds, screenshakes, particles, or which effects you want, you will see that it changes completely the feeling of the game and add a lot to it !
But it's your first LD and you're beginners, so not bad ! You have a finished project now. I hope to see your team on the next LD for an even bigger and better project ;). Good continuation !
Great game, the music is a bit repetitive, but still great. I found a bug. Press <Space> to return to the menu doesn't work. Other than that, this is an amazing game!
Thanks guys! The bug of press <space> to return is a mistake we did. Instead of <space> is <esc>.
This was a lot of fun, I found it surprising difficult but not too difficult. The music was pretty spooky and the graphics were okay.
There were a few minor bugs like collectables behind the health bar, black screen when moving to a new room until you get hit, space at the end not doing anything but pressing escape does. All minor things nothing game-breaking. A bit 3 spooky 5 me :P
Nice job, really liked that is was procedural. It wasn't too difficult once I got the hang of it. I hope you continue work on it, different obstacles, mosters would be cool or maybe powerups. Really good job for a beginner entry and I hope you continue development and ludum dare entries
dam, had just one left...
I played the 1366x768 version and the health bar is on my circle of light so I couldn't see the ghosts coming from it's side >.>..
oh and also, my screen was white until i pressed alt+enter, but overall it had great mood
Really nice for the fisrt game good job and good luck for the future!
Thanks for playing it :).I don't know the reason of the white screen. Also, we had trouble with the HUD in the 1366x768 resolution
Nice work, music was alright but repetitive (maybe having it quieter would have helped, IDK). Good working getting something working with procedural generation, although the hard part of it, is getting that fun. The level was just a bit too straight pathed with dead ends, and nothing really hooked from a gameplay side.
Congrats on your entry, the game's pretty polished and worked well for me. The graphics are good and cohesive, reminding me of the PSX era for some reason!
The gameplay works spookiness-wise, and the level generation was fine so nice job! On the other hand the scoring system felt a bit convoluted: my first playthrough was rushing through the level collecting lights & dying like a noob, second one was just standing still to see if I could survive... that's only when I realized the game is simply high-score based :P
Like MessinaBrothers said, to me the lighted area thing screamed for getting bigger as you collect lights, maybe to let you see ghosts in advance as they move faster and faster. That would make the game more exciting I think!
Anyway excellent work, it certainly doesn't look like a game from beginners :)
Cool game, liked the graphics and the audio. Gameplay was a little too simple but overall nice entry.
I liked the overall feel for the game! It felt as though it was a creative take on the Pac-Man style mechanics. I did run into a bug where I was completely blind after getting to the stairs, though.
After getting to the exit you should wait to the next maze generation :)
Fun game and really cool idea! I think it would use a little tweaking with the generation ui, but overall it was a really nice game!
The game is good, I liked to run from ghosts. Well drawn, great job.
Nice game bruh. Ahh.. It's procedural. Good job on that!
Sounds are good. And artwork's nice for the game, really fits the mood.
Some improvements I could think of:
- Death animations. Currently you just get teleported. Some death sounds or something, I think, would be great.
- Maybe improve the ghosts. The ghost only walks randomly on the path. Maybe some mechanics where some of the ghost goes directly after players?
I've played your game here if you'd like to see my reaction:

the fact that it's procedural is impressive, giving the time. But I'm not really a fan of the mechanics, just roaming a maze with reduced visibility is not really interesting or fun for me. But it's a good basis and with more time you could make something out of it!

I liked the overall Idea, I think it could have been better if the maze was more maze like, and less dead-end paths.
