WARNING: If you dislike platfomers, then this game will be very hard. Even if you like platformers, it might still be very hard. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to introduce a more gradual progression. :(

IMPORTANT NOTE: I strongly suggest that you play the whole game to understand how the theme comes into play. However, if you don't want to (which is understandable given how hard it is), I've spoiled the main gimmick in the comments below.

You are a samurai on a quest to deliver a sword. Everything should be explained to you (hopefully). There may or may not be a twist at the end.

Definetly very challenging.. I got to the secret tunnel before it got too frustrating for me. Some checkpoint placement definetly made a tear roll. While it's missing detail the art is pretty nice to look at. The sounds are very "harsh", especially the one for the dialogue. X and Y are a bad choice for buttons because of QWERTZ keyboards, so I had to change mine to QWERTY to have a chance :p. The controls made sense in my head, but it felt like I didn't always have full control over my jump. I think it's because the timing window for the second jump is tiny. I feel like at least an explanation was needed to how you properly jump off a wall into a proper second jump but I figured it out by testing on a blank wall. I did have some tense moments, in total I thought it to be quite entertaining ;)

Very challenging. I have not been able to finish it, and i am a Super Meat Boy player. Maybe to need to adjust the learning curve. Also i think a bold font for the text would be better, the text is difficult to read. By the way, i like the mechanics, with a little polish this could be interesting. Good work!

I really wanted to do a more in-depth review of your game, but this is not possible because like you said, this game is almost impossible! =D
I like this type of level design and art style, so well done on your game!

@Saiodin: Yeah, the checkpoint placement around the secret tunnel area is pretty poor, I'm sorry about that. If it makes you feel better, originally you were required to do 3 double wall-jumps instead of 2. :P

Given that this game does seem to be really hard and people aren't finishing it, I suppose I will spoil the second half of the game: right after you finish the sword delivery, you're asked to deliver a laser gun back to the beginning, so you have to do the entire room again, but in reverse and with a projectile instead of a melee weapon. The level was designed to work both ways, so that's how we incorporated the theme (having one room done multiple times in a different way). We were originally planning to have two round trips, where more spikes were introduced on each delivery for the learning curve, but didn't have enough time at the end. :(

Hard, but not to figure out how to jump, merely to figure out how to physically press buttons right.
Also, theme does not affect the game much =(

Erf, that game was too hard for me :3.
I sometimes pressed a button after having attack a black orb but without being able to jump again...

Really really hard game, remind me the kid of Super Meat Boy. Gameplay was sometimes a bit late to respond (when getting a black orb for example) making the game very difficult. :'(

@Xwilarg, Yami no tenshi: I think that's because we made it so that you couldn't jump until the entire attack animation is finished. In retrospect, this was probably a mistake especially because it can feel like the game's just not letting you jump. Thanks for the feedback!

We'll try to upload a new version with minor changes like adding checkpoints and being able to cancel an aerial attack with a jump. I guess this technically counts as adding features, so we'll put it as a separate file, but I really want to make it easier if possible; I didn't think this game would be so hard to the point that no one even makes it to the second half. :(

Good game! It is very hard to complete. Please add more easy level at beginning. Please add .exe file to links then it will be more easy to launch the game. Please add improved graphics solution.

Well definitely difficult. But the good kind. Great job on the art work and sound effects. The controls maybe should be remapped for a more standard keyboard use, but thats it. Fantastic job on your entry and keep up the great work

Cool tutorial comments! Also, great idea with destroying balls to get additional double jump. I quit in the middle of the room. :)

Wow, reaaally hard. I had to see the video to see what the whole game looked like, I couldn't beat it hehe.

That aside, the idea was simple but good. The black orbs were a nice concept and the idea of the stage being beatable backwards by changing to a laser gun was pretty neat too.

Great job!!
