Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Escape the Room

by akai_0okami - Jam Entry

UPDATE 10/8/17: I have finally completed it! It's still quite short (only a few minutes long) but it now has some puzzle elements to it.

UPDATE 29/12/16: Thanks to positive feedback I have recieved, I have decided to continue development and will release a finished version of the game at some point.

This is a point & click game where your objective is to escape the 'room' you are in, only to find yourself in a bigger room.

I didn't even come close to finishing the game as I seriously underestimated how much time I needed to do the art for each area. The game as it is now is extremely short (only about 30 seconds of gameplay), once you've gotten out of the crate and are in the wardrobe you can go no further.

Left click to interact.
Escape to exit the game.

Pretty simple game, there's not too much too much to talk about, and that's not neccesarily good.

I was disappointed to see you didn't get to finish much of the game. I used to have a blast playing through the many room escapes that came out during the Flash era.

I like the idea you had going into this. It would be very cool to see that expanded further. Might actually play that as point and click games bore me, but this idea is promising.

Hope to see this developed further. It is too short to be really enjoyable now, but ideas are a great starting point for something great.

Interesting idea, a shame you ran out of time. I liked the looking upward in the crate. Up and down in this type of game could be a nice disorienting means of navigation.

You can improve the audio and the graphics at some point but overall not bad!
And please go and try out my game!

The concept is nice, you can expand it, maybe with more animations for example.
I'll wait for a complete version! :D

Really short, as you mentioned, but not a bad start. I would have liked some more interaction with the box you're in, such as having to unscrew all 4 of the screws before the top opened.

I like doing escape rooms. I understand that artwork does tend suck a lot of the time. I hope you are able to add more in the future

The little I saw of the game made me care about him. I would like to see it finalized.
