This game really looks gorgous :) The gameplay is also nice with a strategic element. I think this has the potential to be extended into a full-fledged game with multiple encounters and a story. Fantastic work on that one!
@MrBrenan Thanks man, appreciated.
@wheerd If nothing else, I plan to continue using this engine in upcoming LDs so there will be more :)
Wow incredible!
Awesome what you did in this small amount of time. It even feels like it is well balanced. Did you already had a 'Hearthstone-Prototype' or was this completely from scratch? Nevertheless is it the best entry which perfectly suits the theme.
@IshikawaNakamura I started on the coding side like two-three days before LD, in a leisurely tempo and progressively it got crazier and crazier. So I can't claim it's totally from scratch in 3 days but more like 6 days :)
Interesting game, something different on this LD :) I really liked the design.
Oh, come on, nerf that Ancient Gate + Eggs combo! :D Pretty colid game, great job!
Apparently, I've been stuck on a set of cards on the enemy: Mud Guy, Portal, Mud Guy. It just dont attacked me and notthing... By the way, pretty gorgeous.
Fantastic game, I really like how the cards burn up. I had alot of fun , although the cpu wrecked me I quite enjoyed discovering the new cards.
Extremely impressive work! Good job! Very nice graphics and interesting take on the theme. Winning condition is a bit unclear in my opinion but it makes sense in the end.
Very nice game ! But the Ancient Gate is cheated, it should only protect the card at side and be damageable ! You should continue this game after LD :)
Interesting distillation of TCG elements, It's cool how different interactions happen because there are so few cards in your deck.
WOW someone give that man a trophy. Hearthstone made for a LudumDare. You are insane. I had to quit tho as soon as the enemy dropped the gate, it is just way too strong.
That felt pretty much like a more or less scripted version of Hearthstone and I quite liked it. It was really fun if maybe too easy. Also I didnt quite understand what the card that let you discover a victory condition did. The visuals felt quite polished too and looked nice. I would really like to see this expended into a longer game.
A linear card game with a nice touch. Nice graphics and burnup animation. Would have been more interesting with more enemy variation though.
A fellow silence enthusiast!
I'm not extremely into Hearthstone myself, but I enjoy a little game every now and then. But nowhere in hell would I expect something like it less than here.
My only issue is that the arrow glitched out and I couldn't end my turn, might wanna look into what could have caused that.
@m110 Just play around it man :D
@Reversal Mirror That is intentional, they are trying to hatch into your game over.
@lordvorath Glad to hear, it's not super difficult to figure out
@Leroyii Interesting observation. There are so few cards simply because I run of time (and steam).
@MaximumIllusion Cheers :)
@Junber More or less scripted version of Hearthstone is exactly what I had in mind when I set out to do this, so I guess I did it :)
@OttoOtteist I had some quite nasty bugs that took a lot of my time. Originally I was aiming at full 30 cards deck.
@Drury The idea of giving TCG a shot has been brewing in my head for quite some time, so LD was natural choice. Thanks for the bug report, will look into it.
Good game, I'm not a big fan of this type of games, but I enjoyed playing it. Didn't understand everything that was going on the first round, but I figured it out and beat it on the second attempt.
Really good art as well.
Very well made game! I included it in my compilation video series of Ludum Dare 36 games, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/6fURV7WMVCQ
Nice game! Won twice, would love to see more games using this engine.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Many solo participants enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Dude, for having made a Hearthstone like in three days, you receive a medal.
Seriously I really enjoy it, great job it's awesome.
But the 0/10 - Immmune to damage card and protect nearby minions - is just too OP.
Great job and continue like that :)
