Following the theme, I decided to base this game around a battering ram, an ancient technology used for wrecking things.
You play as a ram-wielding warrior, bashing into weapon-wielding monsters, trying to make your last stand as long as possible.
WASD to move
Space/LMB to bash
Mouse to point where you want to bash
Sorry that the source code is really messy, because this being my first game jam, I was (unnecessarily) stressed for time.

Probably the most fun game I've played so far this LD.
You don't have to apologize for your source code being messy, it's supposed to be that way. If you have 48 hours and are wasting time trying to follow standarts you're doing something wrong
Now that was a solid entry. Overall very solid. I really like how the enemies skid across the ground and have a little smoke trail, that works really well. The music really added to the intensity of the game.
best score: 39.
Good, simple game. I liked the art and the gameplay was fun.
Actually pretty enjoyable! Could benefit from adding some kinesthetic related things such as screen shake, animation blur, and better feeling sounds (that punch sound so weak).
Would play it if I could, but I don't have WinRar. Is there any way you could just put it in a .zip file?
Thanks for the feedback so far, everyone, you guys made my day.
@RugbugRedfern
I updated the itch.io page, you should be able to download the installer instead. I hope you'll like it.
@killthealias
Yeah, now that you say it, I realise that punch sound is pretty bad. It was the best I could find on freesound.com though, and I can't imagine that's a very popular resource among sound designers.
Good job with the music, really made me feel that arena vibe!
Nice graphics, the fallen enemy particles and movement was really satisfying and the red = death representation was very clear. Maybe you should ditch the movement keys and only move by ramming! =D
compelling music with an intressting idea. neat but a bit unfair balenced for my skill set
Very fun, reminded me a lot of a Smash TV type of game. Took me a few tries to get how useful the charge is in getting around some of the enemies.
Couple suggestions, 1: enemies you push into the spikes should count towards your total, 2: I had a couple cheap deaths from charging into swordsman mid-swing, seems like there should be more leeway on those.
Great job!
Just Awesome :D The graphics aren't wonderful but simple, the gameplay is really funny, the most funny i've seen on this LD for the moment. My highest score is just 12 but I really enjoy it, great job :)
Hi, nice game and congratulations ! Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.
This game rocks :)
I played it for quite a while, and probably am comming back to it later. Simple, fun, neat music, pretty graphics, great game mechanics, variable oponents needing variable tactics. I salute you sir. This was very enjoyable :)
Ran pretty smooth here, I really like the art. The game is very addicting and also challenging. Got 28 as my best score.
Looks like GMS guys should update their code, there are a few warnings in the console :P
This game is very clear on what it wants to be. The enemy types complement the simplistic controls nicely.
The music is a big part of the charm!
It was sometimes a little unclear why I was dying, but the gameplay is quite addictive. The attack was very satisfying when it connected :) The music was great as well.
Fun trying to adapt to the various enemy types. It seems the club enemies were never to be underestimated. All it takes is one mis-timed lunge.
This was a fun game. Even if I only played it once. 20 points.
This is a lot better than my own game. :)
Very simple and fun. Nice presentation. Good music.
The difficulty has a way of keeping you on your toes.
Smashing enemies just feels great, it has a sense of intuition being the atack lock to the LMB.
Great Job!

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Many solo participants enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
i like it i guess. i have played 7-8 times. best score 23
