my best score was 6. i found this game hard, but not difficult. i couldnt dodge enemies or see where they were while jumping. also the mouse controls were hard to use. i liked the art though and the sound.

only can get max 12
while the game itself not bad, but its too difficult, the player seems a bit too close to the camera
thus can't see well on the enemy, the movement speed too fast
the enemy also too stick to the player, theres should be clear space between enemy and player, thus player still can shoot if the enemy get too close to the player

but still, a very solid entry

Pretty fun! Bullets should go in the angle of the mouse cursor and not just straight left and right if you want it to be more fair.

I fixed the camera!

Challenging, but hugging the corners and spamming the mouse is too easy of a strategy. I also agree with Ghen, the enemies are too fast for how close the camera is. Graphics were very nice.

The enemies are too fast to be able to get away and shoot them, but other then that, it's a pretty nice game! :)

I got 13 points. The hard thing for me was:
-you can't controll direction in the air
-you can't see where the beam will hit (some warning would be maybe good)

But All in all i like the game. The graphics are really cool. I just think that the 2 enemys don't fit together (art style)
Thank you for programming I liked the game!

Alot of complaints about the game being to fast. But in reality, its just as I intended. If anything I wanted it tobe faster. But when my friends played it on an even faster version than the current. It was brutal. So, everyone is actually playing a much slower version of the game.

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Cool game and amazing sprites! Really gives me that Vlambeer vibe.

Though I figured out the game became pretty easy when you just stand in the corner and keep shooting.

Very sticky controls

Aug 30, 2016 @ 5:49pm

It's so fast, dawg! Like fast bullet hells are cool, but I feel like this game needed a bit more care in it's pacing. Like, maybe making sure the enemies spawn farther away from you, making different enemies have different movement patterns (like perhaps the meat guys could hop like fleas), and slowing it down a bit would kind of increase the agency of the player while maintaining a high level of challenge.

Unfortunately I cannot run your 64 bit executable on my 32 bit system.
I would have loved to, I am a fan of SMB as well and your screen shots sure look fun!

What do ya mean sticky. I'd like more explanation than "Sticky". I want to know these problems so I can fix them.

I have to say, opening the game gave quite the shock - the spawning sound is quite loud!

Otherwise a fun little shooter. I was trying to decide the best strategy between continuous jumping and spawn camping the left side. Neither were terribly effective! High score of 8.

Fun little survival game. It's definitely super fast, but I think that makes it a bit fun. I feel compelled to beat my high score =P
I hope to see you make more games!
Would also love some feedback on mine if you have the time ^_^

Hi! Very cool visuals. It was very hard when moving around but super easy when i stood in the corner. Impressive submission, keep it up!

Sep 1, 2016 @ 3:24pm

I'll be adding some new sound effects next update. Will also make it a little bit slower (about 10%), and a way to not farm in a corner. I would do it now, but I'm in school.
GLAD EVERYONE IS ENJOYING IT!

I keep dying almost instantly and having to restart.... it'd be a good improvement to spawn the player somewhere that they are safe from immediate harm. Otherwise, it looks ok.

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Many solo participants enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
