Block Shift is a fast paced block movement game. The goal is to last the longest time possible, which is not easy, and it doesn't get easier.
To shift the blocks you have to click and drag each of the blue squares, avoiding the red walls as they move towards you. The longer you survive, the quicker the walls spawn, the faster they move, and the less gaps they have.
Good luck!

Built using Unity 5.
Edit #1: Added wall colour shade change to indicate difficulty.
Fixed score and difficulty not resetting on restart.
Edit #2: Added line and block highlighting indicating click and drag manoeuvre.
Edit #3: Added path finding (Massive!) and updated tile moving to use this. Improved wall movement so they all move at the same time, to reduce jitter.
This is the first time I have done proper path finding, so I hope it works properly! Didn't even use a tutorial, so it may be iffy >:P

That's great!
I'd suggest finding a way to move the blocs with the arrow keys, because drag n' dropping is quite slow and doesn't allow to react fast enough. Maybe clicking on a bloc to select it, and move it with the arrows next?
Nice! That's really creative, and the game looks clean and pretty well polished!
Cool concept man! Nice gameplay but dont know how it progresses.
Progression is time based. Aim is the highest score. Easy changes to moderate at 25 seconds, which changes to hard at 100.
This is pretty cool, I like the whole feel of the game and how everything fits and works together.
Very nice game mechanics! The game flows and all components work together perfectly.
Enjoyed the game, although it felt a little too slow paced for to me start with. Maybe have a selectable difficulty at the start with sets how quickly the pace increases?
Nice graphics and gameplay. It's new but it wasn't that fun for me. I guess I didn't have the patience :( Overall it's quite cool.
Fun minimalistic idea. I quickly just moved the tiles to a horizontal line and that seemed to be a winning strategy for quite a long time. Some sounds would be nice?
Couldn't load. Not able to allocate enough memory. Maybe produce windows and linux builds not just web
I really like this. It's simple, but reasonably challenging.
There's a lot of potential for mixing up the core rules that this version establishes, like giving the movable tiles different colours and having colour gates, or requiring a shape to be created at a certain point.
Really interesting concept. With some polish, this could become a great game.
I think the premise of the game has a lot of potential. The design is elegant, and the art is simple but nice.
However, the experience would be better if the way of moving the pieces wasn't so slow. It soon gets to a point when you know what you have to do, but can't do it because of the controls (the click and drag mechanic).
The interpretation of the theme of the competition is great too!
Easy to get into, and a very moderate difficulty curve. The UI in particular looks great. This would definitely work well as a smartphone game, you should try and get some music + sfx and port it to Android and iOS.
nice game, I just think that it's a little harder to do the drag and drop of all cubes (sometimes)
score 81... it reminds me of a repetitive nightmare I had as a kid, that I'm running home and trying to hold my toys in both hands but they are sliping and falling down. that's the kind of feeling I had playing. The look (esp colors) is awesome.
I like the idea of moving them into positions. Really nice to check how quick you can move the blocks around. Needs more polish to make addictive (graphics and sounds)
Interesting concept though not sure how it's related to the theme. Quite challenging once past the 100ish points too.
One issue: Buttons on the left of the screen uselessly hide a lot of the good position to use and prevent clicking on the the blocks proper.
Otherwise, good, simple and does the job entry.
Solid Entry, could definitely see it as a IPhone game with a little more polish.
Another stand-out entry. :D
I tend to rate games that exhibit good scoping/time budgeting really favorably, especially when the finished product is intuitive and polished. This is an excellent example of that.
Not super ambitious, but the core mechanic is unique. Lots of possibilities for cool iteration. ^-^
Good job.
Got to 113 points! (not sure if that's good or not but I'm proud of myself.) I really liked this game! Would probably actually download it on my phone lol.
The idea was perfect and fits with the theme pretty well. It was a bit slow to click and drag; maybe doing something like clicking a block then clicking its destination and the block moves there would be a little more user friendly? The click and drag does add more challenge to the game though, since I figured I could just line all the blocks in a row and move them one by one right after the last wall has passed, and the click and drag made it harder to survive like that...
Great idea! Loved it! Good job. :)
Simple and easy to understand. Seems like a good touch-based game for mobile where you can move quicker.
Nice colors. I found it quite easy once I figured out that the blocks can be moved horizontally. Just align them in one horizontal line and you have plenty of time moving them to the next position one after another. Apply some easing to the movement and this could be a decent mobile puzzler.
I also made a game where you need to fit through an approaching wall!
110score :/ Really good and easy concept. Keppt it on, nice work.
So I am assuming this is getting ported to android. (Please say yes.)
Not a bad game, I find it too easy tho. Controlls are a bit awkward on pc, might be better on mobile
Nice Game, simple yet nicely polished. Would love some sound effect, i'd suggest triggering some musical note each time your place a cube on a tile
Wow this was tough, but not in a really bad way. It was quite addictive actually, I was trying to figure out the best way to handle things, but as soon as it got to hard mode I panic and failed every time
Take a while to get challenging. Should have ramped up a little sooner. Other than that, great!
I really liked idea! Game would totaly rock on mobile devices with touch!
This game is perfect for mobile devices! Really liked the idea!
Wow, that was quite hard! Not that enjoyable with a trackpad. Score 111.
Lovely game - the interface is fantastic, I love the way it never takes you out of the game.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Great Graphics, great gameplay and quite challenging. Could be a really nice mobile game for Android and IOS :D
