~Rocky is a shapeshifting rock. His brain collection is being stolen by zombies! Kill zombies, buy more morphs and other things, and most importantly... DEFEND YOUR BRAIN COLLECTION!!!
~The Linux versions may not work. It has only been tested on Windows 8, so please don't leave a bad rating if you can't get it to run unless you are on Windows 8. (It should run on other windows versions though.)
Instructions are in the download.
Extra Notes:
If you see a red message flash at the top of the screen, but you don't have time to read it, it is telling you that you have low fps and that you should press "P" to lower the quality. (P only works if the message is showing)
If you are a good person and you managed to read this far, here is a hint: when you start, try to build up as much momentum as possible with the rock by bouncing off walls! Eventually you will be able to instakill zombies! ^_^
In response to many of the comments about the controls, the movement is acceleration based. Some things, such as lava or trees may take a moment to move... I wonder why... (psst, IT'S A TREE! XD)
Another thing in response to the tree comments... The hitbox only does damage when the tree is horizontal, because the tree is falling on the zombies, not swinging.
I changed the messed up money amount earned when killing zombies, which is well within the rules(I only changed 2 numbers): "We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline."
~The download may take a moment to work. Please wait up to 30 seconds for it to start.
Watch the gameplay video to see how I play. (Although I kind of failed that game. XD)
~IMPORTANT NOTES: I forgot to mention in the How To Play thing that you can press number keys to morph. :P (marked on the top of the screen) PLEASE DO NOT RATE THE GAME UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE "How To Play" FILE!
The Rocky Survival Guide: COMING SOON! :3 (wave 27 was my record)
Please check out my website for more of my games! They are higher quality and have downloads less than 10MB.

El_WaKa You can get inside the zombie with some things. The tree only hits where it falls. It's a rectangular shape.
the game was fun. i liked the tree the best, though i couldnt get to buy anything because i wasnt getting any curency. so i just moved around as a tree. i kept getting low FPS warnings pop up too. im running on win10, so i guess thats why, as you said in your howto win 8 is optimal
jcmonkey When you get the fps warning, it says to press p to lower the quality which will fix the fps. Also, you get the currency from the coins flying around after you kill zombies.
Cure art style, although the game lags a lot (not sure whether its a problem of my computer or not).
I was getting frustrated by the speed of the game and the floatyness of the controls.
I like the concept of kindof smashing into the zombies. The controls could be more responsive tho. I felt quickly overwhelmed! I like the art style
I feel like the explosions are the only thing in the game that even looks "pretty" :3
Nice game. I found it a bit hard to hit things correctly, maybe the balancing was a bit off here and there. Cool idea!
My download has less downloads total than votes... By 4... FOUR PEOPLE FAKE VOTED! D:
Fun and innovative, good sounds, but there is still that issue of going "inside" a zombie. Great game though, love the momentum based attacking!
Ones I got a flow goin this was sort of fun, but the buying interface was a problem for me since it didn't paus, required me to put my hand on the mouse and was difficult to see. Also, it's very easy to get overwhelmed as a rock. I assume the point is to turn into a tree during group fights, but since the tree attack doesn't have great hit detection for things near you that doesn't always work. Bouncing around as a rock was fun when I got a hang of it, but the only real strategy that worked was bouncing back and forth ina straight line. Still, these were all interesting ideas to experiment with and none of those problems couldn't be resolved. Well done!
Nice game. It took me a while before i understand whats happening. Maybe a ingame tutorial would help. So it is a tower defence like game very impressive to make in so short time.
I found the movement controls a bit clunky. I like how you worked in shape shifting, but it was difficult to get into.
i laughed SO HARD when i turned into a tree x'D
WELL DONE!!!!
(lack of song makes your game seem "empty" though :C)
It's a good concept, but I feel the execution could have been better. It's a bit tough to find out how to play without reading the manual.
Once I found out that you have to build momentum I was able to see how this may work after all given a bit of additional polish to the controls.
The idea of smashing zombies with random stuff is always fun! Thats was a cool idea, but the controls and how each object works was a little confuse for me yet, even after reading the txt file within the game. But the game has a cool idea, keep upgrading this work, you can really get something really nice with this!
I still don't see how everyone is finding WASD(form movement), 12345(for morphs), and space(for attacking) confusing. (and also c and mouse to manage the shop)
From what I understand, the negative feedback I've had so far will mainly affect my overall score, but my innovation should be high. :D
The speed and the controls were annoying but I could see this being a good game
nice entry! art style is simple but effective :) cuold have done better tho/... the game is innovative..
hmm, what can i say, maybe some optimization would make this better :D
It was funny when i turned into a tree... HAHA nc concept
Not sure I really understand this game :3
So I bashed into some zombies as a rock, but not sure what the tree really does compared to the stone besides being slow and big.
It was a bit hard to control. The sprites look nice though.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
I'm not sure if it's just my pc, but the game feels slow and buggy (you can easily get "inside" a zombie but he won't receive damage, and you never know the exact range of the tree, it feels like is just if it hits) but I like the idea and would love to see the game with some improvements, good luck!
