Just a small game about a wizard named Douglas trying to find his way out of captivity. You must shift the shape of your environment and use nature to your advantage to defeat enemies and hopefully make it out alive. My one tip is to take things slow, as to not miss anything.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Controls (not taught to the player in game):
-R to restart.
-Escape to quit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Major tip for pro players:
Dirt below crates is very rightclickable :-)

CHANGE LOG:
NO NEW FEATURES WERE ADDED TO THE GAME!
1.Very minor bug fixes:
-The music did not work correctly(it would layer instead of starting over when restarting levels) and neither did certain sound effects(sounds would not play when they should have).
-The player could walk on spikes without dying.
2.Added a better description. Hope that doesn't count as adding features lol.
3.Fixed a very minor spelling mistake (spelled 'badly' as 'padly' in the final level).

@donvermo I was really close to the line in terms of time, so I wanted to push out the Windows version first. I will try to port it to Mac and Linux and maybe even Android in the near future ^.^'
Game is freezing at start when I try to do anything after trying A and D controls. When I press R, level restart (but not music, music is layering) and game is freezing again.
Really lovely game, one of the best I have played so far, very polished.
Was a little unresponsive at times but great none the less :)
@SantiHisteria Thank you for your kind words!
@02fc.exe Not sure why it would be freezing, but the music layering is very much and issue. I will try my best to fix it up after getting home from school.
@Danny Gallagher Thank you! It really means a lot~ What do you mean by unresponsive?
Nice entry. I would really love to see a more flesh out version with a couple more abilities/enemies/... and some really devious levels.
Graphics are lovely.
I saw a post about your game and loved the graphics right away! :D The gameplay is simple but works really well. I stopped at the part with the grey character as I didn't know what to do ^^'
I'd sure like to see this game turn into something bigger. With the simple controls it could even work on mobile!
Great job overall!
God, this graphics are sooo good!
Really good entry, good Job! :)
I do not know how to get out of the second room (first pic above)
I can't get past the second obstacle ( the wooden crate ) - so can't rate on the rest. Not sure if it's a bug or I'm just not doing it right. Clicking the dirt makes the selection expand, but frantic clicking doesn't get me to the sweet manna. :(
Great graphics! I can understand the argument with unresponsiveness. Since the player can move just every 0.x seconds you can smash the button but it will still take while till the character moves. I guess the grey character is the end of the game, reaching that resets me back to scene 1.
Very interesting =) Could become a full fledged game if there is more strategy involved.
I got stuck in the wodden crate part not sure what to do there :S
The graphics/ character are very well done, good job :)
Thank you so much for all your kind words, guys! I'm super glad you enjoyed the graphics/the game in general. I do think that with more polish and time, this could turn into a full game, yes! About the crate level, you simply have to right click the dirt to make spikes appear that destroy the block. I figured the pun was enough to teach you that, but I guess not xD
Good concept, a tutorial would help figure things out a bit other than that, it's a neat little game with cool looking pixels :)
I just finished it, really good graphics and great puzzles! Well done!
The block of the second stage does not break. I click on the ground below, a sign shows that my area of magic increases. When I click again nothing happens. I want to come back here to play. I loved it, but how do I solve this?
Wow! Cool game, excellent graphics, the gameplay is sometimes not immediately clear, but interesting. Good game!
That was nice, a bit too short though. I feel like you could've made more use of all these features you added like the bug and crates.
Also the ending is a bit weird. I replayed it a couple of times in the hope that I missed something but I'm pretty sure that that really is the end?
That all said, the graphics look great, awesome job!
Some weird small issues on the control feedback (during combat), the game is really greate and fun, and those graphics are delicious
The graphics is really great!
I don't get what happened with grey copy of the wizard at the end though.
Music and sounds are nice, but I wish music was a bit louder.
Very nice job overall.
Btw, you have a misspelling: `Sometimes it ends padly`.
Nice concept and graphics! Sometimes I didn't really got to read the text because I walked a bit fast and lost some of it xp
Anyways great work!
Gorgeous graphics. I always enjoy a fun take on a roguelike. Wish there was more. :)
The graphics are awesome! And the idea is well implemented! I like the short descriptions that also moved the story forward, would've liked to see more of that! The music is also nice, fits well with the rest of the game. Another thing I would've liked is some sort of visual or sound reminding me that my mana is gone when I try to use it. It left me a little confused in the beginning.
All in all, awesome work! ;)
I love the art, and the gameplay is pretty cool too. However I couldn't figure out how to get out of the pit on the level with the bird and mana bugs, but I might give it another try later :) Great job anyway!
This is super slick. Great job! There's a ton of potential for a whole game in here.
Yeah, art is fantastic, game is fun and offers some difficulty, it's pretty innovative in it's gameplay. It is pretty unforgiving sometimes though, sometimes you can misplace a single mana point and you have to start over, I found that when the mana bug appeared was when the game was impossible for me to pass it. Can you tell me how to get past the mana bug level?
I liked the way you used the theme, the graphics are great!
The concept behind the game and it's art are awesome! It could use some extra animations and all, but considering the time you had, it was a great job indeed! Some mechanics were not so clear though. The bug steping, for example. The absense of a jump made me waste some good time trying to fall over the bugs to kill then when I only had to walk tward them lol.
And try to use the grass better with the game design. I mean, if I see grass and dirt, I assume I will have to use it somehow. Try to use that in your favor! =)
I loved this little puzzle game. The graphics are just great. A lot of character design packed into a low resolution. Great choice of colors too. I liked the level design a lot. You made it so you only progress once you understood the core mechanic. Nice job. :)
Would love to try this game but I am not keen on installation files. would you consider placing a zip archive in the future?
Love the metaphoric of the character only escape which is certainly Death :D
Great job on this entry! ;)
oooh! i got it,it was a puzzle game! and i must feedback that there are a big bug that will let people lost... in scene2,if i click left button first, the right click will unuse....
then..the scene4(,can not through in the final pit which near the right border ToT )
totally,it have a great rhythm and alothough it have some blink/ hopping ( just like some japan animation style),but still great rhythm, espically when fighting.
i hope there could be more challenge, also mix the puzzle feature in future.(oh just fogot to say that you have great feeling in design/color and light ,i think it is very important to pixel-game)
all in all,a great work has taken the first step.
well done, cheers!
Nice concept. It's hard at the begining to understand the deplacement and all these mechanic of gameplay but it will surely do an good concept for a future game.
The music is good
The graphism are wonderful, i like this pixel art aspect
Maybe the player should have 2 hearts because we can speedrun pretty easily the game.
Just try to add new mechanic in the future of the game ;)
Awesome game! Enjoyed it a lot. Would love to see this expanded more. Good job!
Nice mechanics
Really cute graphics! *o*
I Hope you can extend it and make some cooler levels :D
Really nice entry. I was a little confused at first but then got the hang of the mechanics. This definitely has potential to grow into something bigger.
Nice work there! :) I find it nice that the game does loop. ;P
Sweet work on the graphics, tilesets, background and character sprites are really well made! :)
It took me a while to realize how the controls work, but the way progression happens in the game is pretty enjoyable.
Congrats! :D

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
I wish there was an OSX version or Web version available to play. The game looks interesting but sadly I won't be able to judge this entry.
