Sky Panic, a cute'em up game!
Shape-shift between fighter and bomber form, each one will allow you to defeat best the different enemies.
Controls:
- ARROW keys: move
- TAB: shift between bomber and fighter mode
- SPACE: shoot
I've been sick the whole weekend, so I couldn't do anything complicated :( But I'm pretty satisfied with some of the sprites!

I love the graphic style (the combination of styles between gameplay assets and the fonts works very nicely), and how you applied the switching mechanic.
Great job! (and hopefully you'll be feeling better now)
A fun little shooter, only very slightly hampered by the erratic, unpredictable movement of the flying enemies. The graphics were very decent for a competition entry. The sounds do get a little repetitive after a while, but that doesn't make the game any less fun.
I would have liked to see the shape shifting aspect developed a little more, perhaps with other vehicles with different weapons, but what you have is very solid, especially given that you were ill the whole time! Good work. :)
The main concept is not very innovative. The shapeshifting idea is interesting, but I think it is useless as it is - I do better if I am in the small form all the time than if I try and switch my forms. What a shame it is not a bit more flexed out, with more enemy types, so shapeshifting would be actually useful.
Love the music. The graphics are great. The explosions are great.
I also checked out the log and enjoyed it.
Great game. Nice bright graphics. Needs more enemy types tho.
Love the graphics (and the music, but slightly less than the graphics).
The game is quite hard, maybe the normal ships should die in 1 shoot too (considering they come in quite big waves). As some people have commented, shifting feels a little pointless (as you can shoot the canons as the straight ship), but it feels much better to one shot them as the bomber so I am happy to have the choice.
Really love that color palette. Cool idea to play a schmup in two modes, would've liked to see that used in different ways. The song is groovin, though maybe too short of a loop.
A solid arcade scrolling shooter. Shooting felt great, dropping bombs felt great! Graphics are awesome. Sound is extremely repetitive and bleating, especially the shooting sound. I had to mute my volume! Would be nice if distance was factored into your score. Nice interpretation of the theme and well done!
Like the graphics style, soundtrack was a bit too repetitive, but the sound effects were good.
Overall quite a fun little game.
This was a great game! The graphics were very neat and the simple mechanics went far to make it incredibly addictive. Awesome work!
Nice approach to the arcade scrolling shooter style.
More enemies would be very nice!
I like the graphics lot (especially explotions).
But I think that a pixel art style for the user interface could feel more integrated.
Good job overall!
Nice visuals, the colors are pretty.
Contrary to what people have said I think the "balloon mode" is way stronger to the point you barely need to use the other form. If you stay on the top, aside from the diagonal enemy formation, you barely have to evade anything. I would suggest to design your (enemy/bullet) patterns defensively so that they don't generate persistent "safe spots" that can be exploited.
Really great art and and the game's very polished. I found though that if you stay on the top in bomber mode, your'e basically able to avoid everything and kill all of the enemies. Overall, great game!
I liked this one. It wasn't super innovative or anything, but it was simple and it worked. The art was nice and as a classic horizontal shoot-em-up, it did its job. I do think some screen shake would have added a bit. Also maybe remapping TAB to SHIFT for the switching (this may be my own personal preference). Also, at least on the web version, it seemed like the sound effects cut off the music, which was a little offputting. Other than these gripes, this was a solid entry.
This is way more fun than it should be :) Really like the fighter/bomber transformation.
It's surprising how well this works for such a straight forward idea.
When I was watching your progress in twitter it looked quite simple with the placeholder shapes. The graphics really give the game a whole new appeal and meaning.
I find funny that people find the shifting pointless since there are arguments to play using only one of the ships, for both of the ships.
I'm taking no side as I was switching quite often.
Thanks everyone for trying out the game and give some feedback. I really appreciate it! :)
Fun game to play! I liked the music, but not the sfx. Good work :]
Good idea for a fun Shoot Em Up. Aesthetic is pleasant and movements smooth. A pretty experience. Thank you ++
It's a very polished experience overall. Not a lot of content but it's hard to stop playing :) and that's good. Music it's a bit repetitive.
I really like the bright colours and clean shapes. This entry was so nice and polished. Great work.
Nice one! The end result is impressive given your problems with the flu in the meantime. I like the pixel art style too. Would love to see more levels and enemies.
The graphic style is pretty sweet, but some animations (specially for the transformation) would be lovely. The sfx are great, but the music loop is pretty annoying after a while. The game is also too hard (¿?) maybe a lifebar with 3 points is needed, and (this is an small detail) using de spacebar or enter to replay the game instead of clicking with the mouse (that kind of breaks the pace of the game) would be lovely. Nice work!
Very simple but effective game, mechanics are very easy to understand and that's great.
Audio and graphics are great also, great work here.
Now let me give you 3 easy things I would do for make it better:
1 - All the game is controller by keyboard, and you need the mouseclick for retrying. Make it also possible with keys and it would be less tedious to retry.
2- Give the player a reason for not been always pressing "Fire button". For example: Player velocity decreases if fire button is active.
3 And last but not least, don't allow the player to go to the botton of the screen, and it will be a more powerful reason for shape-shift.
Again, great work!
Lovely graphics and audio. Mechanic is funny too, simple but neat. Nice job!
Simple, but effective game. I like the graphics but I would have tried to make the enemies' paths more appealing and fun.
Good job!
Fun shmup! Satisfying gameplay and nice shape shifting. It does get a bit samey after a bit - some different enemy times and more chaos would work well! also some sort of mega laser that needs to build up energy to be used is always fun.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Cute little game.
I like the graphics and how polished everything is. The music gets a bit repetitive but it's subtle enough to not overdo it.
