(If you can't play on windows or lack time, here is a video of a full playthrough: https://vid.me/jhbr#2s )
Take control of a doppelganger mimicking human form during the day to infiltrate a city and devour isolated victims.
At night, your true nature and strength is revealed and you have to defend your hideout from invading monsters!
The game progresses a bit more each day ( the city guards react to your crime and increases security). More and fiercer monsters come to challenge you every night.
Game, art and Sfx by me.
The music under CC license used in the game was made by "Lately kind of yeah" (was not made for this jam)

<- -> to move
infiltration phase:
up and down to take stairs. "C" to eat people ( make sure you're not in the same room as other humans!)
defend phase:
"x" to jump. "C" to attack
Can you become the new king of the land?
Can you find and defeat the terrible Gazer?
Can you get a really hi-score and tell me how much it is?
Such questions can only be answered in... DOPPEL TROUBLE! *theme music starts*
content:
- 4 endings
- 8 enemy types ( 4 humans, 4 monsters) and an extra boss monster for a bonus challenge.
- level up points depending on how many people you ate to upgrade your doppelganger.
- possibility to keep going without activating the ending to get a better hi-score (game keeps getting harder).

Thanks! I didnt know about itch.io, uploaded it there and changed the links!
It seems your link doesn't work, it gives me a 404 not found error!
This sounds like a really awesome game but the download link is broken! :(
The link to the game seems broken! But the screenshots look good
I can't sadly download the game (broken link). I'd like to tho!
It's one of my favorites so far. Well done, Keep up good work!
Awesome game! The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is fun and engaging.
This game is really fun and I enjoyed the heck out of it. It seems like you did a good job pacing yourself and getting the scale right for the jam. I think that if you polished this game enough that it could easily make it's way onto steam if you wanted to sell it. I'd buy it. The two biggest things you could do to improve the game are add controller support (I played the game with a controller using controller companion and it really makes a difference) and maybe giving the monster a higher attack range. Other than that, this one is solid and I'll probably be playing it well after the judging is over! :)
Thanks, that's awesome to hear! I actually started working on controller support yesterday, I'll link a new version in the description when it's done. :D
It was a fun game, I just personally would like if you could jump with the up arrow key, its a would be lot easier.

Really cool. The difficulty of the different sections seemed completely off, though.
Took the stairs, ended up in heaven (never stopped going up)
Really nice game, i didn't knew where the was when i first started, btu after i found it i had much fun playing your game, well done!
I like it, the pixel art es great, the use of humans is interesting, the changes between game modes and this little RPG component to increase our habilities. I enjoy it :)
Hi blob can you try on full screen atleat 1024 * 728 resolution.
Hi BLOB Thanks for trying my game. Can you please try on 1200x resolutions in unity. and let me know. In the eve I will be playing your game before giving any feed backs
Neat idea and great execution! I like the graphics a lot and the sound fits. I think it's pretty fun having the gameplay change between feeding and defending state. Fun game for sure! Regarding your comment on my game Shicken, you change weapons with the number keys 1-4 :)
Great game.
This feels like a game I would've played for hours during my IT classes at highschool.
Can't think of any negative feedback to give.
Very nice job. Sneaking and eating people was definitely the highlight and could have stood on its own, but a progression system and parallel game is an interesting addition. Nice music and sound and great animations. Congrats on finishing. I hope you keep developing this.
This. Was. Great. Loved it. This felt very well thought out and finished. Great job!
Really cool you were able to finish effectively two different game types. The "Crunch Crunch Crunch" was funny text to popup.
However, Most of the time for the day sections I ended up just camping in the towers.
Hi blob you have to download it again. It's working fine for all resolutions try 1280 or higher
Wow!! INTERESTING :D really the total opposite of my entry haha... it's one of my favorites so far :) nice one..
I like the details on pixels
Thanks for playing!
@ultrarat: Yeah but you can't camp much in following days as guards spawn in the towers first.
Pretty solid game, like the graphics and mood, good stealth mechanics too.
Wooooooooow! Cool !! really enjoined !! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description
Damn hard but really cool game!
I loved the minimalistic graphics style, also the RPG characteristics and the general idea is really rad too!
Congratulations!
Cool game! Great atmosphere and feel! Had some trouble with the key controls, probably due to the cheap keyboard I was using. This would be fun with an NES controller!
This is a really great game! The theme was spot on and very fun. The only things that I would recommend is to have some variation on the level structure day to day as it gets repetitive to work in the same level each day/night, and the jumps felt a little off in the night phase.
Thanks!
Having only two levels was my trick to save time for that jam :p
Was hoping variation would come from the new types of ennemies and their special abilities.
For a full game I'd definitely rather have the doppel move from city to city.
Really nice game you made there! The only thing I didn't like about it was how jumping work. It would've been much more comfortable for me if I could control height of the jump bu holding the button longer. Other than that I liked everything, good job!
Thank you! You can actually jump higher by holding but it's too sensitive (barely holding already gives the max jump). I'll edit that in the post jam version. :)
What a great entry! It was really fun. I had fun trying to find the people alone, though it was hard because it took so long to crunch the humans down! I loved that there were two phases too, very unique and cool! Nice job. :)
I'm late to that game here, but I just wanted to say that it was pretty good. I didn't beat it (i'm rushing to rate more games) 'cause it's pretty tough, but it's a well polished entry.
not eat enough always!! ToT so always let me struggle in these fighting(in my home?) and can not live long enough..orz otherwise, i really love the change in the town as the time flows....(blue sorceress is nuisance, but could not built menace at first haha) also these up/down method are genius.
i always love these game which have differents mode and each have different rhythm, in your game ,i feel you integration them together very well and made a wonderful experience for player.( trick to action and exicting to fight!)
finally also sorry for my comment too late, just seen/try your game serval days ago but not have time to leave my comment before!tot congratulaions for your cool game!
(btw, these reeper really hard to defeated!)
Thanks for checking my game even after votes ended! I love games that mix mechanics to avoid repetition, was fun to make! :)
I think I will add an easier mode because it seems a bit too hard overall.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Fun game, I really liked the graphics and alternating between phases. However, the download site seemed really sketchy and full of ads, and it took me a few seconds to find the right link for the file. In the future, I recommend using another file hosting service, like itch.io or dropbox.
