NOTE: Because of the Theme tie, we allowed everyone to pick either Theme. Using both was optional. To keep things simple, there will still only be one Theme category. Every category in Ludum Dare voting is an opinion, so you’re welcome to rate them as you see fit. But we encourage you to be fair in your scores to people that chose only one Theme, and not both.
ALSO: Itch.io has an experimental game downloader over here. You may find it useful.

I decided to fool around with a new style this Ludum Dare: Diagonal pixels!
It was weird to program, but I love how it turned out.
I incorporated both themes:
- Your goal as the DESEEDER is to destroy all of the seeds, otherwise you'll feed the giant plant following you!
- Your controls are only UP and DOWN. Shooting is automatic.
Press P to pause, and M to mute.
Hope you all really enjoy the game! Let me know your scores! :D
HEY! Check out the postmortem! It has a scoreboard, and fixed up level generation:

WAH! You're right, the embedded game was pointed to the old game. The links are fine though. WHOOPS!
Fixed. Thank you.
This game is really addicting! Graphics are basic, but colours make it look epic, and music is top notch! 5/5 everything! :D
Thank you for participating in this jam, and please do so next time.
Good luck in your exams!!! :D
I love the graphics, pretty cool gameplay too, it was easy to evade the walls but the seeds got me killed.
Pretty spiffy game! Diagonal pixels look damn awesome (although you probably didn't have to tilt the whole screen for it)! Rather difficult, though, but not unfair!
5611 high score maybe? For some reason, the tutorial was WAY more difficult for me than the game itself. It took forever for me to time the 3 shots so that each of the obstacles got two shots each. I felt like one should be enough.
Unique idea with the diagonal pixels! Nice audio too.
I really enjoyed this game! The graphics are simple but nice. The diagonal look is a cool twist on the classic 8-bit theme. The music fit well, and the gameplay and controls were really fluid.
(Working high score table too!)
Not sure how hard this would be, but something that you could do is space things out so that the sound effects sync up with the rhythm of the music. This is something pretty minor, but as a rhythm game player, this would make the game complete for me.
Nice job!
The tutorial was harder than the actual game. The actual game was great.
Well done! The aesthetic was nice, gameplay fun for a little bit. I wish it got more frantic / difficult, though. Got to 18k, felt no difference.
Very nice! I like the rotated graphics, the audio is cool - I can really see myself playing this from time to time, should this become a mobile port at some time.
Great game. A little tough for me. Why don't the shots go all the way across the screen? :/ Sick music too
Very slick and stylish. The 3 "big" seeds in the tutorial are a hell to get through xD
Amazing graphics, sound is fantastic, gameplay is straigh forward and very effective. Great work and good luck ^_^
Simple idea implemented really well. Really made those 2 buttons count.
Love the diagonal pixel style! The music is very well done and all around this game is fantastic! I'd love to see a post compo version with more variety.
So many comments! Thank you all! <3 I will be checking out everyone's games soon, I promise!
Danidre: I can't say for sure if I'll participate in the next one! It's really hard planning around my school schedule. And I have an exam to take today, so thanks for the good luck :D
JanGames & tgrehawi: I should have totally spent more time adding more variation to the walls!
Justinooncx & Aurel Bílý & Fanttum: Getting mixed comments on difficulty! I really need to figure out how to balance this :)
Fanttum, the shots end on the screen as a gameplay element. You can always see your bullets and plan their locations - also it gives you a chance to see incoming walls and stuff before you destroy them)
GAFBlizzard & killthealias & esayitch: The tutorial is too difficult? I must really be used to it by now. Thanks for letting me know! :)
gkxd: A rhythm game! That would actually be pretty cool, but that would be so difficult to balance with gameplay xD Thanks!
Gyfis: I had mobile in mind when I made the resolution! I might work on it after Spike Tower!
Waynetron: The hardest part was trying to make the game balanced with constant shooting! Thanks!
Wow, great job! The diagonal pixel idea works really well, and goes a good job to set this game apart from the flurry of pixel art we see every Ludum Dare (including from myself.)
Zanzlanz, I watched you make this from the first minute, and seeing what it has become in 48 hours just amazes me. Keep up the good work, and keep on making games! :D
Loved it! Loved the diagonal pixels, beautiful! Great idea too. Very nice music, and fun game! Great job!
very fun! It would be cool to have control of the gun somehow, but still great. Much enjoyed.
Interesting game! I really like the pixel art, and it has a nice game play.
One of the best games played so far! It's just all comes well together... Don't know what to say about it anymore other than very good entry!
Oh a nice addition to this would be the possibility to beat other highscores
I really like the graphic style of this game. And it's simple and plays nicely.
The diagonal pixel style was definitely unique. Great game! Thanks!
Wow - this is one of the most polished endless games I've seen this Ludum Dare so far! I love the sound effects and the dynamic camera shake when you destroy objects. Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Great music and SFX! The pixel art is very pixel-ized and retro in a very good way. This game is well stylized. It is probably just me but I wish my bullets went a bit farther as I have trouble shooting all the seeds that appear. Loved it.
The seed feeding the plant behind you is really clever, nice work!
Wow.
One of the sickest game I've played on Ludum Dare yet. The diagonal pixel idea is freaking me out! Nostalgia...
But the best thing is the music. Completely unbelievable you did that during the compo! It's actually so good, I have it running in endless loop in the background ATM... Yes, it's repetitive after a while, but I also like Underworld and Crystal Method ;-)
Very fun game! Sounds and music are SICK and really add to the juiciness of the game. Also love what you did with the diagonal pixel art.
Definitely one of my favorite games this LD! Now excuse me while I go play Deseeder OST on repeat.
Interesting style and beautiful graphics. Special thanks for the tutorial =)
Awesome! Full marks from me. Diagonal pixels are ridiculously cool! Reckon they'll be the new voxel. Amazing stuff dude :D
It's a solid if plain infinite runner.
I can see a lot of work has gone into the music, good job with that. Plenty of polish all around.
Loved this, but the tutorials could be a bit easier! Well done :)
Wow, slick all-arounder here, it's got nice gameplay, plus good graphics and sound, plus a soundtrack... that's a lot for a compo entry!
Great job. Only nitpick I could offer is that a few times I was confused about when I got hit, otherwise it was all clear and fun. The tutorial was well done, I usually find them intrusive but not in this case.
Very cool game!
Loved the music, and somehow the sound effects when I shot enemies seemed to sync up to the music.
Nice to see an entry that focus so much on the juicy-ness /game feel.
I'm not a huge fan of the graphics, it just seems like a big blur to me so something a bit crisper would be great.
But the gameplay is really the reason why I come back to this game! Well done!
Awesome game! It's really polished, fun and the mechanics really fit the theme. Nice done! :D
Very cool entry! I love the graphics style, and the music is very entertaining! The gameplay is simple yet challenging, and most of all, quite fun to play! Congrats for putting this out in 48h hours only, it's very polished fast-paced game :)
You are featured in today's Ludum Dare to Believe! Check it out! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRXegYh1MPw
Wow! Awesome game, really =) Art syle looking interesting. Game mechanic is perfect! Like the challenge, it's fun and very adictive, man! Like that I can destroy walls, it's really cool feature =)
Very solid entry, man!
Love the global score board, it's always a treat to see that. Well done!
Fun to play! I included it in my Ludum Dare 34 compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out :) https://youtu.be/Fm6iQk47yZ0
Thanks again everyone for the kind feedback!!! I did make a post compo version that improves in most of the areas you guys mentioned. The level design was fixed, the tutorial is 4% easier, and I added a scoreboard (There you go, @CrownCity :D)!
I really slacked off on playing everyone's games, but I still plan on getting to it soon. I want to rate everyone back and give feedback if I can. Love your games so far! <3
Thanks @ButtonMasherBros for checking out the game! I wish I had a way to make it more obvious that the seeds feed the plant and make you lose a heart!
And thank you Jupiter_Hadley for playing too! Your commentary is always pleasant and to the point. Keep up the great work!
Pretty original visuals! I liked graphics, music and the overall mood of this game. Congrats! :)
Very polished and cute! Nice job! Also cool hints and tutorial!
I love the graphics, and the gameplay was great. The only thing that bothered me was that the walls to get to extra hearts took too long to break, and had no indication of damage.
This definitely deserves the top 100!
@TerraCottaFrog - Agreed: walls do show damage in the postcompo version (they turn red - making them shader was confusing to the player), but I still never decided on a good way to provide hearts. :D
Wow, amazing graphics, I love the diamond-shaped pixels! And awesome sound! Gameplay isn't that innovative, but fun nonetheless. Well done!
Pumpin tune! Fun addictive play. Looks pretty with very few pixels. Well done for stick to two button theme too!
Nice entry. A difficulty curve would make it more interesting though. :) keep up the good work.
Great game! The diagonal pixel aesthetic is really interesting! Fun stuff. Love the soundtrack too.
The seeds are kinda hard to kill but besides that the game is good.
Hey, very fun game! Original graphics, cool music, good action (weren't most of the plaforms destructible?).
That was excellent. I barely beat the f@%#ing tutorial, but it was awesome.
WOAH GUYS! Thanks so much for voting me so high on the audio! That's the highest I've been rated in any category before (the last was 9th in audio for Str1ngle). <3
Otherwise pretty decent scores. Thank you everyone for playing! ;D

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
I think you've uploaded the wrong game.. that said, chocolate helicopter blades are delicious (and that game is SOLID, sad I missed it last LD!)
