Welcome to Psychoshark!
Psychoshark is a game inspired by B movies. You have to survive without people noticing you are a shark. We wanted to add more features, but we couldn´t. We decided to opt-out the audio cathegory because we just selected the soundtrack and edited it. We opt-out the graphics cathegory too, we made all the graphics but weren´t able to animate them properly.
Anyways, we hope you have fun playing our game!

You should post controls for this game somewhere, because I have no idea how you eat people (which is presumably the point of the game, since I doubt you'd make a game about a shark that worked at a frozen yogurt store...)
Sorry, I forgot to explain the controls on the description. Posted now!
Couldn't figure out what to do, but the picture was funny and I ate people.
For some reason, the hunger was decreasing faster than it should be (a line of code duplicated), so we fixed this bug. We have uploaded the new versión. Thanks you all for your patience!
The music was nice, but the goal was unclear (if there even was one). Nice idea though, having a shark pretend he is a human.
Overall I enjoyed nomming on those unsuspecting humans. Nice concept and I liked the humor! :)
To be perfectly honest, i don't know what i'm doing in the game
its pretty funny tho, nice entry
A bit confusing, but hey, you are a Shark and eats people, who needs explanation? Loved the cover :D
Woooow there's actually a lot of goofy stuff in this game for you to find. BRING ME ICE CREAM, SLAVE!!
I think it is a good idea but I can't get into the "helping" part of the game as long as I can't get any awnser in the yes/no questions (playing web version).
I guess you need more time to develop the idea. I think this concept could be a great game with polishing (a lot of :P).
kinda messy... the music and the art didn't bring out the mood. fun idea though, chomping down people while trying to stay in disguise.
First of all, thanks you all for your comments! You are helping us a lot with your feedback!
Then, this said:
-We are developing it further, so we can add all those things we wanted and we couldn't + some changes to improve gameplay. We will write a post mortem soon talking about this.
-The objective: well, the main function of the game is laughing, BUT there is a way to "win" - eating all the humans without getting the notoriety level to "Shark" (then a congratz window will appear). However, though we wanted it to be more evident, we ran out of time, so as you said it really is a non-sense shark game.
-The helping system: talking to them (key T) are used just for knowing what they want. Next is getting the item (if they need one), and then you just go to the carácter and press H. That means that you don't need to talk to them to help them, if you already know the details you can just go on a rush and help people. From all people, there are three people who you can't help for nothing (one is your boss, other is a woman who can't talk neither, the other is a secret) and other two you can help without an item. HOWEVER, now that we have feedback and time to test the game, we realized a easier helping system is needed. This will be added to the final version outside the LD.
Well, thanks you again for the comments :)
Haha, nice concept! I could barely restrain myself and I ended up eating people, well, because you know. Nice job!
I love the idea of being able to help people as characters, or eat them as a resource. I wasn't clear on what I was supposed to do, or why I would lose.
Fun game! Lots of depth, I'm almost certain there were objectives and areas I wasn't able to explore. I love that you are able to decide whether to try to talk to people or eat them. (And to be honest, I wouldn't opt out of the graphics category. This has better graphics than a lot of games I've seen.) Very solid submission, lots of fun to play! Nice job!
We posted a post-mortem where we explain a bit more what happened: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/09/03/psychoshark-post-mortem/
It is a really large post, but you are free to read it if you want!
original idea(unfortunately you opted out the innovation vote). could be more polished.
I discovered your game through the post-mortem (I have a soft spot for the dramatic chipmunk and panicked bold texts). The idea is neat, with a bit more work and better preparation you will probably nail it.
Controls, animations and so on need more work for sure, but I'm already aware about your problems managing time, family logistics (latin drama...arghghhh), etc. Use the experience to learn from it and keep trying to get better at that, most of us are still fighting those same beasts: scheduling, scoping and The Unexpected (True story: last year a heavy storm in Barcelona fried my router and my laptop's power source the night before LD30 because I was away fooling around and couldn't unplug them. Luckily I had a spare power source, but I unsuccessfully tried to keep calm and work using my phone's 3G or look for an open library on a Saturday in August -LOL-, until the anxiety about the stupid internet connection at home beat me up and I ended opting out of the compo)
The game is not bad at all for a first entry, though. Congratulations, and good work! :D
@bombjack: Didn't notice the opt-out from innovation, maybe we unchecked it for accident. Thanks for the advice!
@Ithildin: Thanks for your comment. The router death seems to me an inferno, I don't know what we would do if that happened to us x_x
Shark's always a plus. Interesting idea of choosing between helping and eating people.
Didn't understand what I was trying to do, though, and talking didn't seem to work sometimes.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Not super clear what the goal was, but I ate people. Because, you know, shark. Game of the year?
