Classic platformer with an obscene setting.
You are an orc that must eat(and mutilate for bonus points) babies.
Pretty monster-ish of you right?
You must avoid the police droids.
Also includes bonus drops to discover for yourself.
Controls :
left/right keys to move sideways
up key to jump
Considerable skill, that's all your control options.
Game ends at the door, aim for the highest score.
A bit about us : 3 Friends on our first Ludum Dare, only free for about half the jam. Started completely unprepared & only goal was to have something submitable.
*It sometimes takes a long while to load first run particularly if your browser isn't WebGL compliant(falls back to canvas). But as long as you have a reasonably modern browser it should run(it's just HTML5/Javascript) - just wait a couple of minutes, after that it should be cached and load instantly.

Yes sadly we we're very short on time, only free for a limited amount of the jam. So some things didn't make it, including those 2 items, and more levels. But overall we were happy to get this much into our first Jam. Thx. for the feedback.
Yes that was very much the intention, difficult(not quite as bad once you get a feel for it's quirks) but very possible :)
When those babies cry out it in a tight spot it can really mess you up.
What does the bonus item do ?
I got to ~6500 points then suddenly the robots became intelligent and jumped on me from all sides :< (nice AI done in 48h by the way!)
There's a camera bug if during your jump you get stuck against a platform and still try to move in that direction : the camera will go away without you XD
Yea was aware of the bug, but not major, and ran out of time to fix it lol.
The bonus drop clears aggro from all enemies, which sounds awesome but is actually very situational, since if you are still in sight line/range they will immediately regain aggro. But there are moments it can be helpful, just need to get inventive with timing of collections.
This is hard :) I like the sprites and animations, although they don't fit well together. The sound is also a bit jarring. But I'm sure that better players than I are going to have a blast with it :)
overall not very creative...it's really difficult, but not too buggy...good job!
You die too easily; it seemed like each round was ogre before it started.
Nice pun. And yes you die easily, it's intended, but once you get used to the mechanics it's much easier(but not easy :) )
It reminds me of the old classics nes platformer games! Good times!
Definitely a very steep learning curve! The enemy sprite was nicely animated; the orc did feel a bit wobbly. Also, the sound effects are a bit too disturbing!
Crikey, that's difficult! But I kept coming back for more! :) Good job!
really tight jumping space...i kept trying for maybe 10 minutes, got to the door but I was at the bottom :(
interesting entry!
yea there is a point where the bottom becomes a trap. If you haven't got up by a certain point, there is no way back. It's intentional :)
Felt like an older retro game. Very bloody, great game! I love this. :O
He is quite the monster! Cool game. I included it in part 1 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/SB3lix7PW1A
The concept had a lot of potential; the game, however, albeit decent, could use a lot of improvement. I can see from the comments that you were out of time though, so that makes sense. Just nitpicking here, but I wanted to point out that the hit boxes are a bit messed up with the enemies. Pretty nice game overall, though!
yea it's done in phaser using Arcade physics which puts hitboxes on the transparent parts, needed to use a different physics choice, but was too late to change it throughout when we realised(was out first time making anything in HTML5/JS.. let alone using phaser). We are planning to take it further at some point, and will revisit that issue then. Glad you enjoyed it!
It played well and it was nice to keep trying to best your score. It was solid gameplay and I liked it when the enemies jumped, it felt cheeky! Overall good!
This game is.. a little weird? I finish the game, it was hard but it reminds me the old good day on retro game.
The game is fairly straightforward, although jump physics are a little floaty (that may be intentional since it's set in a very space-y location). I feel that the enemies are way too overbearing; I can hardly land on a platform without one already positioned exactly where I will be, not to mention their hitboxes are huge and I die without visually touching an enemy. This coupled with the floaty physics makes it dangerous to even jump. I get that the game is supposed to be hard but tighter controls, better hitboxes, and predictable enemy movements will keep it challenging and add replay value.
Good work nonetheless!
I can feel what you wanted to do with this game but currently the controls are not responsive enough. And that deeply hurts the gameplay.
Don't feel bad about that. The first LD is always harder :)

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
very NES plat former feel, the art of the main character does not match the rest of the art in game also A death effect would be great instead of just straight to gameOver
