——— Description ———
Max is not a popular kid.
His costume sucks.
Luckily, three magic masks have come to the rescue.
Now, he will be the monster.
——— How to Play ———
We recommend "Fantastic" graphics settings and 16:9 resolution
Keep pressed to put on a mask:
A - Werewolf (Moon)
S - Mummy (Egyptian Eye)
D - Vampire (Bats)
and
Left Arrow - Scare left window
Right Arrow - Scare right window
Use the masks to scare the left and right windows of the houses in the neighborhood. Keep A, S, or D pressed to put on a different mask depending on the events in the sky, and press Left or Right to scare either window.
For example: to scare the Left Window with the Werewolf, keep A pressed and press Left Arrow.
——— Post-Jam ———
- Fixed a bug that causes the Scare bar going down too quickly
- "How to play" window included ingame.
- New Level 3 mechanics (easier but tricky)
- New start and end level animations.
- UI improvements

Real fun game! It took a while for me to get the mechanics, but once i had nailed them, it was great. Gotta say though, the 3rd house got really hard all of a sudden. Graphics are good, sounds are very good and the mood is there! Well done :D
I didn't have a lot of fun, but I think it is quite innovative.
Great visuals. The concept was also quite interesting.
Amazing game! Very fun to play and smooth as well. Keep up the good work.
I loved the visual style. I never managed to scare anyone though, despite my best efforts! I guess I don't have it in me.
Hi Lissar! It's a bit difficult to learn, but when you do it two times, you realize that is very easy!! (We did'nt have time for the tutorial!). The easiest way to learn is by pressing both arrow and A-S-D letter at the same time.
Excellent use of the theme! I think it would be great if the player was given more feedback from the house when they did a successful scare, but the overall mood is fantastic.
Good fun, although it took me way longer than it should have to figure out what im supposed to be doing. The art is great, and i had a good time playing.
This is good! It creates the mood with it's music, sfx sounds, graphics and the (a bit) frantic action. I liked it a lot.
The only thing: I may be quick enough to push the needed buttons when symbols in the sky and the windows show for only a second, but the animations and sounds are not the fast. I liked them, but they are too slow to be the audio/visual feedback for such a quick gameplay, IMHO.
What I also liked in the mechanics is how the appearing symbols/events are distributed on the screen like their respective buttons on the keyboard. Catching this helps to be fast enough.
The art was really great! The timing seemed a bit too tough to feel fair, but it was a good take on the theme and a nice change from killing stuff as a monster :)
really lovely art and an original concept, though it gets quite fast and tricky after a couple of houses. nice work!
I really liked the game the art, music, and gameplay all worked well together. The game mechanic was fresh and creative. I especially like how you had the sky events map out with the A, S, D keys in their position in the sky.
Fun game! The art is really good and the concept is interesting.
Art style is incredible, that intro. Took me a couple of failed tries to get the mechanics but then was pretty fun.
great graphics, and great idea, i really enjoy it. good job
Great game! Nice graphics and animations and the mask thing is really great. reminds me a bit of majoras mask! very funny. got it to the third house.
Graphics, audio and idea are all brilliant, took a little while to get the hang of it but fantastic idea and really well polished. Excellent job.
I liked the direction this game was going. I liked you showed how this person became the monster that he is, which is something very unique to this competition. Also, the art style is very nice I definitely see where a majority of your guy's time was spent just looking at the game alone. However, the one problem that I do have with this game is that it's very hard! It seemed that scare meter drained far too quickly as every progress I made with a scare was pretty much gone instantly. Which actually kind of made the game too inaccessible for me. Sorry if I sound harsh, I jst want to love this game so badly, hopefully you'll fix the difficulty in a post-ld version. 3/5.
Art, animations and sound are great. Simple gameplay but very effective. Great job!
Very polished artwork. Nice mood with the sounds!
This seems like it could be made into a decent mobile game if you found a way to use touch controls. :)
Great presentation all round - Took me a while to get the idea and then longer to get my co-ordination down.
Great complete game. Love the art, audio, gameplay was pretty simple and good but the difficulty rises too high for me.
Great interpretation of the theme. Good job overall, well done :)
The graphics and the audio are really great! The concept is good and original. I reach the second house but it's incredibly difficult. You made a very good job!
Nice idea for the theme, graphic is nice. It's a bit hard to get the right timing, good entry though.
Nice game!
By the way, i found a bug if i go fullscreen the scare bar drop very fast and it makes impossible to win.
The aesthetics of this game are fantastic. I love the art style and the music is fun. The idea is very original as well. Nice work!
You got the art, music and mood down, they're all fantastic. Gameplay got a little repetitive though.
Painfully hard on the 3rd level, but a very cool little game! Enjoyed playing it. Polished up nicely!
Wow, that second level got a lot harder. It's funny, the mechanics took a minute for me to grasp, but once I got them, the positioning of the cues was very sensible to the keys you needed to hit. Well done! And the art was fantastic.
I like the graphics and the game machanics. Though, it get's too hard soon and a bit repetitive.
Cool concept and great art! Sometimes the kid would get shy and refuse to move, but otherwise I really liked it!
Nice concept and cute art! It's a innovative game. Congrats

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Loved this game. Loved the art style, the audio, the concept and the game play. If I had one criticism it would be that it needs a way of measuring your progress through the levels and/or a record of how far you got in the game.
