*TURN DOWN YOUR SPEAKERS! THIS GAME IS REALLY LOUD !
Move: WASD
Look: Mouse
Shoot: LMB
Eat : RMB
This is my first Ludum Dare entry and also my first finished game (ever).
You are the Monster (duh!) and your Goal is to stay alive and kill tanks and helis.
Eat Cats for life, humans for laser fuel.
Features I wanted to implement but couldn't because of lacking time and/or skill:
- Upgrades: Bigger Laser, More DMG, More Lasers
- at least 2 enemy types more, 1 melee type
- level with obstacles
- humans should scream
Things I did good:
- The game is actually working!
- planning was good (cooked food before etc.)
- I was focused like a Laser
- sound was okay
- code is shit but at least it works
Things that I did not good:
- The game looks like a turd.
- Pls don't look at my source code... just don't...
- Music. Seriously no idea how to music. I used pulseboy as a makeshift tool.
Will I participate again?
-Yea this was pretty amazing, I will be back with a prettier turd next time!
Will I continue to work on the game?
- I will probably implement the remaining features.
- I will definitely replace the background. OMG did you see that? What happened there? It looks like a retard built a street in vomitland.

Congratulations on completing your first Dare (and your first game)! One thing I would suggest, is that if you want to use a four directional shooting system, you should map it to the keyboard, rather than the mouse (like Binding of Isaac does, for example).
Good luck for your future games!
This game was pretty awesome! I felt like the art for the monster was a bit lacking though. Also as lowercaserho said, being able to shoot in non-cardinal directions would be really helpful :D Overall, great entry!
Graphics are a little bit incompatible but still funny game tho
I love the crunchy sounds when you eat things! The gameplay is pretty interesting too.
I quite liked this game, it had interesting gameplay and was unique, I found myself finding it easy at the start but as I progressed it actually got quite hard and made it a lot more fun, it suited the theme perfectly, you shouldn't be too hard on your self with the graphics they're actually quite nice in a cute way (but obviously could be improved), I really liked the sound effects and the soundtrack was quite nice too, it was actually quite funny (especially the cats) and the mood was fine. Good game overall, well done.
Kinda fun, little odd at first. Your bullets and enemy bullets colliding was good, made it harder to shoot the tanks. The graphics arent too bad. A little more time on monster would have helped, since its on screen at all times and being controlled by the user. But overall, fun little game. Congrats on your first LD entry.
Fun little game, audio isn't bad but a volume slider could have been useful
Well done on your first game!
It's weird that you can only shoot in the cardinal directions and nothing in between - especially when the enemies can.
I'm not sure you needed a button to eat - is there any reason to conserving people/cats? Do they keep spawning? I didn't feel like I ran out of them at all. So needing a button to pickup seems superfluous.
It was fun to play but not perfect. But it's normal for your first game. You should finish more games in your spare time. It will really improve your skills and I'm sure your next LD entry will be a masterpiece ;)
Congrats on your first game and LD! It's a huge accomplishment. Enjoyed your game, although I would suggest allowing the player to shoot in any direction instead of just the 4 cardinal directions (or use the keyboard, with the mouse it didn't make sense)
Pretty fun little game! Nice work on getting some camera shaking in there, it's a really nice touch. I had problems to fire the fireball, I only managed to do it three times.
Nice concept. With better graphics and audio, it might give a real good game!
Good first game! It was pretty fun, so Keep up the good work.
Nice but the aim aiming is really hard to cope with.
graphics of ennemies are nice
Funny game! I would like I could shoot on the bias, that was a bit anoying for me. In overall cool game.
Very, very fun game! The gameplay reminds me of an old NES game called Jackal. I love that I can stay alive by eating people and cats. Brilliant touch!
Well it seems that being focused like a laser payed off! Quite fun game to play.
It would be nice if one could shoot in all directions, not only up/down/left/right.
Don't be too hard on your self about the graphics and the sound. There are decent, I've seen far far worse.
Really well done for a first game! I liked the difficulty progression. I thought it was odd that you could only shoot at right angles and that if you moved your shots disappeared. Nice job.
Very nice project guys, i really love it, please check our game too and if you liked it give us a vote. Look for Road to hell and enjoy.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Actually a pretty fun little game. The two features that I would most like to see woulld be the ability to fire in non-cardinal directions, and a scoring system.
