Nice little card game. Had trouble winning the fights when opponent would pull fist slime after fist slime against me ^^;

Good card game, he needs a better tutorial to understand rules but it still fun :)

Pity we can not turn off the music !

The web isn't really web version, just another link to Windows.
Couldn't play it but good job, making a card game in a jam is not easy to do.

Some great art. Its not immediately apparent which card won, event though it should be obvious I think it should be shown. I think if you match the other player's defense it should count as 'no one wins'. Not sure what happens when you win, do we get that card added to our deck ? I think this video is relevant to card games: []

I wish the rules were more complex. It feels the player with the better cards in hands just win.

Nice card arts.

The rules are confusing without instructions, and it feels just like chance. Another layer of strategy, or even just keeping cards hidden until the battle, to give a sense of tension, would really help this.

The music is also completely random and inappropriate to the situation.

Cool card game, a bit more polish, but cool!

Clever idea, first card game I've seen. The game didn't seem to track my wins though. Or else I was mis-understanding the battle mechanic. Nice art!

Simple top trumps at the moment but can definitely become something more complex with small tweaks to the rules, maybe more card slots and let the winning cards stay behind for another play?

Aug 29, 2015 @ 4:40pm

As others have mentioned, I'm not sure what sort of game your chosen music would be appropriate for, but it doesn't feel like it should be this one

It wasn't really apparent what my attack and defense values were. A little more explanation would have helped me a lot!

Other then that, love the idea of someone making a card game here, haven't seen that before, kudos!

Also good sound!

The idea is neat, but the game is really damned unfair. The strongest creature I have is a 2/7 slime, when my opponent juggles 9/9 goblin kings like no biggie. More balance would be nice.

Doing a card game in 72h is very ambitious because of the balancing problem. I is not always even, but this is something I can understand. Anyway, I like all the creature sprites you've put in your game and mechanics work correctly. Good job!

Too many fist slimes. :) A bit more variations in mechanics and the game would be great. I like card games :)

Good concept but we'd like more feedbacks about our attacks & defenses.
Drawings are excellent!

It's good to see a card game! The mechanics are very simple top trumps style but you've added in an element of choice and tactics (by giving the player a range of cards to select from, and by creating attack/defence rounds). Others have found the balancing off, I think because it is random cards (rather than deck building) that the difficulty will always vary. It was quite easy for me. An interesting idea, just needs polish and balancing. Good work!

A card game - awesome. It was simple yet interesting. I like the attack/defend approach, haven't seen that before, which is great innovation. Easy to learn, hard to master?:)

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
