It's a fun twist on an old classic. Good luck!
I made this with Unity so you'll need the web player.

Haha yea, music is not my thing which is why I'm opted out of being judged for it
I collided with the shooting ship right at the end and lost my last swarm-ship. :(
A good take on the theme! I liked this one a lot. Has a surprisingly strategic element too, as you really need to free up space to give yourself room to move.
This is an interesting concept. I think that the game would be improved if the screen aspect ratio was changed to the original arcade 3:4. That would have made the levels short (also there should have been infinite levels of escalating difficulty.)
Cool game!
I liked this game overall, the whole flip around on classic space invaders was very innovative, I did find it a bit difficult at times and that did sap some of the enjoyment out of it, I thought this was an absolute excellent take on the theme and a very interesting one at that and don't be harsh on your self with the audio I find that it suits the mood perfectly and makes it better, good job overall so well done.
even if you don't do music u still tried to have something. that is well appreciated. Good work in general. nice entry .
Nice take on the genre (I did the same kind of thing). I was pretty happy when I got that darn ship! All in all pretty fun!
Thanks for all the wonderful feedback! I had a blast this time around. Last time I made something way too simple and practically finished on the first night but this one kept me going much longer. Overall, my funnest LD yet!
Heh, awesome twist on that genre. It's cool enough that you have to evade the evil "player" - but I would really have LOVED to shoot back. >:D
I've found a couple of these retro games with role reversal, can't get enough of them. I didn't know what was going on at first, but as soon as I did it was "ohhhhhh yeaaaaah".
Original! I was really the monster :P
i always end up with one ship but i get like oblitared, always....he is too strong dammit :)
I had a similar idea at first, so it was nice to try your take on it. I think the 'action' only gets going once you have only a few ships left. The downside is, at first you will most likely lose some of your swarm quite easily. (To a point where I didn't bother trying to evade for the first bit) Some enhancements in this 'early game' might be nice. (However at the moment I wouldn't know what to suggest for this early phase)
Controls felt a little slow at times, but it was a nice fit for the theme overall.
yeah! _\m/ It's good to be the bad guy at this game haha
Great interpretation of the theme :D
If the music is not yours, why did you include it? You are not supposed to include anything that is not yours and created during the LD. You should've entered a JAM. While you opted out from the Music scoring, the music still affects Overall, Fun and Mood. I think this is against the rules. While I really liked the game, I think you shouldn't have done that.
Interesting idea. You see to move left/right a bit slow though.
@KaiseanGames I did make the music. I imagine you got the impression that I didn't make it from my comment "Music is not my thing" but I simply meant that I am really bad at making music.
I followed the rules and created everything you see/hear in the game. I take the rules very seriously because I really enjoy this type of event.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
