My first Ludum Dare, and my first game. I did it !
You are the Monster (Truck), and your objective is to collect the most money by crushing innocent cars. But the cops will want to take you down! Also don't forget to regularly visit Repair Shop and Gas Station, so you can keep up this rampage as long as possible.
Controls: Arrows (or WASD), and Spacebar (handbrake)
Quit the game with ALT+F4.
For more info on gameplay click Info button in menu.
Everything in the game created by me (except for few soundeffects and one font). The graphics are not exactly gorgeous, but I'm not an artist and I didn't wanna spent all time on modelling. I wanted to add lot more stuff on the map, but since this was my first game, my workflow was pretty horrible. But I focused more on gameplay, so I hope you're gonna like it, and you enjoy the game!

If i could marry a game, it would not be this one, it would be the Garry's Mod, but this is good too
I really liked the concept! The police were just way too difficult to avoid to get the most out of the repair/refuel game concept. Love the perspective, its a shame 1920x1080 wasnt the default resolution, might be worth fixing this as an alteration as it changes the gameplay by giving the player a better view of their surroundings. Awesome work! :)
I found it quite fun. Didn't like the music choice all that much but it has an interesting perspective relative to the controls. Well Done :D
I actually quite liked the graphics. It seemed (to me) to give it some additional charm.
I found it decent to control, but I found myself falling off the map way too fast.
Not terribly innovate as far as the theme goes, but quite good for your first time!
Nice take on theme. The game could use some improvements in both gameplay(adding some eye-candies) and graphic. Generally speaking everything works no gmae crashes detected.
Whoa! Certainly, besides Monster Energy Drink it was one of the ideas that came to my mind at first.
I have a thing for isometric games so I liked the graphics. They're simple, but work quite well. It also reminded a bit about Rock'n Roll Racing, even more with the soundtrack.
It was quite a nice play. :D
Fun game! But againa unity game where, when you hit a wall too hard, you get stuck in it and do not get out of it.
The monster truck handles nicely and the health/fuel system forces you to move around the map. The truck needs flame decals :D
Pretty great car handling! I know it's a lot of pain to set up good car handling in Unity, but you did good.
You are the Monster.. Truck, haha, I love it.
Isometric driving games like this are quite nice, and never realized how much we needed a monster truck one!
Personally I feel the truck feels a bit too sluggish, but I like the idea and the choice of music. Quite good for a first game!
The first conduction game that I see in this jam. Nice job, great music and nice graphics. Keep working and improving :-)
I love letting the police get drown in the river :) And the models are nice too!
But it gets really hard after 20 seconds of the game, because the police cars are really fast and hard to avoid. What about adding an arrow showing where the police cars are?
But hey, great job man!
Nice visuals and great gameplay! I'd like to see this game expanded :D.
At first i tought that HP was standing for Horse Power, lol
Interesting interpretation of the theme and quite well balanced.
Any small faults the game has (The controls are slightly sluggish, the civilians don't even trying to avoid the monster truck) are more than made up for the fact that the police tactic for taking down a crazed driver is to just ram him and explode on contact.
It's a clever twist on the theme, I think! Gameplay wise, the controls lack tightness to me. I'd like to have more acceleration, and the brake to allow me to turn faster. I'd also see the truck to be bigger, as its small size makes the game hard at first.
Anyway, keep it up :) !
That's really fun! The map is bigger than I expected and the ai works good. I'd love to see more effects when I smash the cars, but it's good!
Nice entry, especially for your first game. :)
Monster trucks... BOOM explosions, WHOOOHOOO! Why didn't i think of that? Awesome entry :)
Hahahh, finally a not monster based monster game. Nice idea :)
The game itself is good and the grafics are ok.I really like the concept tho (greath job on your first Ludum Dare)
I knew someone would make a game on monster trucks hahaha :D I think the game is fun but just for a minute. You should develop your workflow and make it better next time. Very good for first time.
Fun game! Awesome music! The controls were a little slow, the turn radius could have been smaller. Pretty tricky at first, but fun once you get the hang of it! +1 for dying by falling off the world
Wow this is great for a first LD: 3D models with buildings that turn transparent, fun vehicle physics, and fantastic guitar music! The rotating front tires were a nice touch on the model, too.
Great work! Just wished there was a bigger map to roam around and see!
fun and enjoyable, controls could have being better, bot nothing else to say, its a nice game
HAHAHA, loved the take on the theme. I really liked the controls which felt really tight, the graphics were pretty good. I kind of wish that the level was bigger, though, because I just felt very constrained. Besides that one caveat, I thought that this was a really well done game. :)
Really fun game with a cool idea! Would love to see a more polished version in the future.
Solid 4/4. Nice idea and graphics and music. It was a little annoying trying to crush the tiny cars though :p Maybe add lots more of them!
Solid 4/5. Nice idea and graphics and music. It was a little annoying trying to crush the tiny cars though :p Maybe add lots more of them!
Good game, the music was awesome and the sound effects were really nice too! The game itself was pretty enjoyable but the police was a bit difficult to avoid and why would they commit suicide just to damage you? =p
It's one of the most unique and actually fun games I've seen so far. Good job! The police can be a little too annoying, I don't know how one can stay alive for very long
Awesome music! I was thinking it over in my head for the theme category "you are the monster... you are the monster... TRUCK!" I'm late to the party, nicely played! I would've liked bumpers on the edge of the screen cause I suck, but otherwise, nice game!
Super interpretation of the theme with fun, smooth gameplay - great job!
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare game! This was a great entry and very silly. I loved the juxtaposition of the super metal music and the fact that I appeared very small on the screen, it felt super silly. There's a lot of little feedback things you can do to crank things up that I think wouldn't be too involved - since the game is all about crushing cars, that's a place where you could really push the feedback and make it feel REALLy satisfying to smoosh a car (mix up the sound really loud, do things like a fullscreen flash or a bit of screenshake, effects, go all out because this is what the game is about!). You may also want to look at some extra feedback when I am in the correct place for gas and repair, sound or state change when I am fueling up in addition to the meters themselves would help. I would even suggest experimenting with different zoom levels, i'd be curious to see how differently this places with a closer camera. Just something to think about. Overall, nice work!

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Great interpretation of the theme. I liked the style of it as well, and the car handled surprisingly well. Well done!
