Often the search item in the menu didn't work for me. I used the .exe file. The graphics are really awesome. Liked the gameplay.
Cool idea. Pretty well done adventure game. There were some bugs with clicking, where I'd click search but nothing would happen for a while. It seems like it needed me to be standing further away from the object I was searching, which is weird.
Sometimes when I right click a tree or bush I get no dialogue, sometimes I get the dialogue but I can't search, and sometimes I can search but I can't take the stuff. I also got some sticks but I can't seem to start the fire with them.
xgenovanni: You need at least 5 sticks placed in the campfire, 3 sticks in your inventory and at least 21 hunger points to start a fire with sticks ;) (but the character should tell you what is wrong, if he's not talking about something different) ;)
Also trees don't give you dialog all the time (it is random).
Also I was trying to fix the bug with tooltips/inventories, but I ran out of time, so sorry for that.
The design of the game is top-notch! I love the design, and the story of it is very good. There are a few bugs for the menu items, but all else was great!
The game seems buggy for me and it kind of killed the atmosphere.
Sometimes I can't search bushes or trees or collect their contents. I also couldn't get the fireplace to work.
Could use some fine tuning
Unfortunately I'm not able to start the game. I open the .exe but nothing happens, and there's nothing in Task Manager either. running win 7.
Really fun! Amazing that you made this in just 48 hours, great job!!
@inbetweengames you probably need to upgrade your JRE to JRE 8. That seemed to help most people having problem with it, or it might have been your antivirus, they don't really like unknown internet applications and you might have not noticed anything if you turned off the notifications.
Nice survival game, although the menus had some issues here and there, and the boar walked on air :D.
I never managed to destroy that lock.
I did manage to cook meat though after the 2nd try.
If you search something once and don't take the items you'll never get them...
Aside from that bug everything worked well.
Man, the interactions are wonky but I do like the mood set, though the story is of course… borrowed. Also, I can't believe I let this run for 15 minutes in the background, occasionally clicking a cooked steak just to see the ending.
BTW: part of the UI wonkiness is that the game seized up every 5 seconds for about 2 seconds, causing Java to do bad things as well, the Java process was often running at >1 full CPU core which was odd. Maybe you're doing something really hefty?
Very nice project guys, i really love it, please check our game too and if you liked it give us a vote. Look for Road to hell and enjoy.
Nice little adventure, it gets a little boring when you do all the things you can do and then you wait 15 mins
Very fun adventure game. The 15 minutes of surviving/waiting was a bit boring though. Annoying that you only can search trees and bushes once, I missed some times and then the food was lost. I would like that new popups removes the old ones to avoid overlapping and missed texts. One of the boars died near a tree, which made it impossible to loot. Could only search the tree then. But otherwise great!
Couldnt really figure out how to get stuff from the plane, but I love the graphics! I included it in part 26 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/3UFkqjoD81E

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Awesome pixel art! The game flows sounds very good to me! Nice game
