There is a giant monster attacking the city! AND THE MONSTER IS YOU!
Guide the poorly drawn Kaiju monster through a gauntlet of tanks, planes and bombers to escape the city!
Use your breath attack or crush enemies under foot with your mighty stomp!
Featuring:
- Poorly drawn monsters with FOUR frames of animation
- 110 seconds of music!
- Fonts!
- Pixel explosions
- Untested Mac and Linux builds!
There are Known Issues with the game:
- Getting hit when crouched throws you out of crouch
- Boss music doesn't play (WebGL only, seems WebGL doesn't handle AudioMixer snapshots properly)

Will try a other version later! :)
@Kaev Unity WebGL is really flakey in general. I only put it up for Chrome users, there's a few things in it that don't work at all.
I forgot I could jump, but made it to the final? boss...
Nice animation and effects, quite the retro feel...
At first I found the controls a bit clunky, but after reaching the boss and dying, then reading the description and realising there is a crouch, they make a lot more sense. I especially like the different breath attack when crouched. Despite being simple, the gameplay was fun and charming, and the art wasn't too bad (well, let's be honest, that kaiju is delightfully bad, but I still love him <3).
Fun game, Destruction !! Dommage que le laser ne soit pas plus maniable.
Very nice! I got smoked by the boss enemy. :)
Mayne it would've been nice to have some kind of crouch or something to avoid missiles flying at head level. That or a little bit more speed.
All in all a fun little game!
Nice little game. Got to the end but got killed by the boss. The pace was a little too slow for me to give it a second shot, but it was fun non the less.
Pretty fun. I wish I could stomp the tanks and bat the planes out of the sky, or at least aim my laser beam. Nice pixel explosions! I like them.
@Aberdeenphoenix you can also stomp on the planes when they fly low
I found it pretty hard to dodge the tank bullets.
The boss was nice, overall pretty fun game. :)
This is one of the more fun games I've played so far!
The only issue is the tanks being nearly impossible to avoid. They should take less hits so a skilled player could easily prevent them from firing
This is the best game I've played so far.
You absolutely nailed combat as a monster. The way all of the projectiles and enemies move is incredible.
I only have a few points of criticism:
1) The pace could be a little faster
2) The building graphics bend and warp as you move. It looks a little bit rough, but depending on the tools used it can be tough to make sure graphics work well in the 48 hour window.
3) Score would be great, a health should play into that at the end, to encourage both complete destruction of enemies, and seeing how little the player can get hit.
Excellent work!
I'd love to play more levels and I would certainly play a full version of this.
A little slow, but it was fun being destroying all the planes and tanks. I do love the ducking animation too.
I got all the way to the boss and the end and died there. It would be useful if you put the keyboard shortcuts in the description here if possible.
Good job. Pew pew!
So this is what I've discovered after reading the comments:
- You can crouch (this is not mentioned in the game's controls section, and is so brokenly powerful against the boss that it's silly)
- The tanks take multiple hits(?) (the whole game I though the hitbox on my laser was really small/random and would only sometimes connect)
This stuff could really be conveyed better. The game seems much stronger now that I realise how it should be played.
The artwork was not the best, and was quite boring in the start but as more tanks and planes came it got better.
Background music works well, simple but passable graphics, reminds me very much of godzilla.
Could do with being a little faster, also, is it possible to get those bomber planes that go over head?
Godzilla came across my mind while thinking of my game idea :)
Felt a little slow to control.
The game is too repetitive and slow paced for my taste - still managed to keep me somewhat entertained until the end. The ending was cool.
I love stomping on air planes. Great game and the end boss fight was awesome!!! (I even died to it on my first go.)
it was a really good game, a simple one. the controls were a bit stiff and the shooting button could have been a little bit faster. The graphics looked great, although the city looked better than the kaiju. the enemies where great.
The music is nice, I like the art style of the buildings. The difficulty builds up nicely. Your game description is hilarious, by the way. Good job! :)
Simple concept, but that 4 frame animation had me coming back for more.
That was enjoyable. It took me a while to figure out I could just stomp on them. I sure showed them!
You can kill tanks by standing far from them and shooting at the highest point of the jump arc :D
That was a fun little game :) Well done. The Gfx aren't that bad either.
Managing to go all Mario on the planes and jump on them was cool!
Slow gameplay and rather simple, but not too bad. Good job :)
Fun little game. It would be nice to be able to move faster. Also, I didn't know we can press down.
But great work ! This is fun to play and the tanks/planes explosions are cool.
Nice silly little game. Bit hard to hit the planes, and I found that crouching to fire the horizontal beam was OP against the boss. But still had fun.
Very cool idea and well implemented. Audio got a bit repetitive and it wasn't obvious how to fire the breath attack, but other than that, well done.
WebGL worked fine for me. Couldn't beat the boss, but he surely fought me :-)
Cool little game, like the overall appearance!
I didn't even realize until the final boss that I could duck. I felt really dumb about that. Great game, well executed, and it seems like you finished everything you set out to. Good all around.
Very nice project guys, i really love it, please check our game too and if you liked it give us a vote. Look for Road to hell and enjoy.
The tanks are hard to avoid, but it's fun stamping on them in four frames of glory.

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
With some Godzilla pane effects, it would be amazing! :)
