Story behind the monster:

BullCrcoc, as he was named during his childhood, was not like the others. His skin colour was different and we laugh at him for that. He endured this situation for all his childhood until he decided to discover the world beyond. He left his village alone along with a wooden club. But this is where he learnt the hard truth: outside, people are even meaner. At the first village encountered, the villagers took him for a monster and run after him with pitchfork and torch...

Really hard to avoid obstacles & projectiles but it's a good beginning for a future game !

I wish there were some way to use that club.

Yeah, it's a good start, but it didn't feel like a complete game. If you had to dodge and club the rocks, it would've been better.

Also it needed some story. Why are you being chased? Are you just too monstrous? What happens after the you're subdued by the villagers?

Yeah, I know these are probably not the questions to ask yet. I'd just like to see this made into a more complete game.

I like it, it's simple but the graphics are nice and the music is good. I had 6990 points!

It would be nice to be able to jump out of a roll. Nice work anyway.

Hey! Thanks for making a game.

What we liked -
Nice clear concept, sticks nicely to the theme of the jam, the music was fun and fitted with the rest of the game, simple and fun art.

What could be improved -
Seemed like whenever you needed to jump over a rock they threw a spear and you always needed to roll when they chucked a fireball, made it very difficult given the controls.

Awesome, very clever idea, I like it.

Overall I liked this game, it wasn't very innovative as it is an endless runner, it might have been fun but there are some issues, the spears are way to hard to dodge, the rolls last way too long and you can't jump from them and it often screws you over as a result, the art style was nice but the cartoony characters and pitchforks and torches didn't go well with everything else being serious (especially the background), just looked a little odd to me, the audio was nice but the mood was bad due to a lack of ambience. Decent entry but could really do with a lot of touch ups here and there, well done all the same.

I'm not sure what those rocks are doing there, but at first I thought you had to jump over them (which caused me to get hit by a few pitchforks I thought were unavoidable). Could use a bit more depth (most LD games could though) but definitely a good start!

A bit too difficult because the enemy hits and the obstacles are too random; it could become a nice endless runner if you ensured all obstacles can be avoided!

Nice graphics and its a good themed idea but gameplay sometimes is really hard, low time to react to the enemy attacks.

It was frustrating not being able to break out of rolls. It made it to hard to dodge the projectiles and rocks.

Nice entry! I scored 9680 :) I spent most of the time looking at what was being thrown and not paying attention to the coins as there was very little time to do much except dodge. I ended up dying when jumping over a fireball and ended up having a pit directly where I landed :( I'd recommend trying to account for things like that, but overall good entry! :D

Basically impossible for me to avoid spears and the rocks in the same time
still nice, made it to 4700 points...

Nice entry! Movement feels awkward and It's kind of hard to avoid the obstacles and the projectiles! Anyways, good job! Keep it up!

The game gives you impossible things to handle. You can't dodge a projectile if it is over it is over a rock at the same time as you are.

It is a nice little game. It gets really annoying though when a stone comes from the right and the villagers through a pitch fork.

Nice minimalist endless runner. Make the controls more responsive and time villager attacks better, and it would be quite enjoyable.

Cool little runner game. It's a bit hard at the beginning, to get the correct timing, but once understood, it's well playable.

Spent a while jumping over rocks and into pitch forks until I noticed the tip in the comment. They really do look like obstacles :P Otherwise nice solid entry, great work!

Fun little game. I found myself just focusing on avoidance and not collecting coins. Maybe every 30 coins could give you an extra life (Mario style). On my first run, I still hadn't realized that the rocks were for show. Somehow make those look less like a real obstacle. I also think a little left/right movement would help too. Nice entry, fun take on the theme.

Nice runner! You should just check if there is a rock in the way before throwing forks. Anyway, good job ;)

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
